aside Why Is The Donald Trying To Paint A Former Miss Universe As A Porn Star?

Alicia Machado
Alicia Machado

During the recent presidential debate, Donald Trump was embarrassed by Hillary Clinton when she referred to his inappropriate treatment of the 1996  Venezuelan Miss Universe, Alicia Machado. Ever since, Mr. Trump has been tweeting away that Hillary Clinton has been duped by Miss Machado and then there have been not so subtle references to the former Miss Universe as being a porn star.

This right wing tale has been rated by Snopes.com as being mostly false. Miss Machado has appeared in Playboy and she appears in a grainy  film while under blankets to be having an intimate encounter with a handsome co-star in a popular Spanish reality show, La Granja. This background does not equal being a porn star in a series of movies. In fact, it is safe to assert that Miss Machado has exposed no more than the beautiful Mrs. Trump has.

It seems that “The Donald” has been conned by listening and believing his right wing friends. I wonder how many times he had to watch the sex tapes starring “Dark Angel” (who bears some resemblance to Miss Machado) to determine how disgusting it was? How serious can we take Donald Trump’s displeasure when he has appeared in a 2000 Playboy soft porn video, himself. (See link footnoted below.)

The source for the following excerpts is from the 9/29/16 Snopes.com post by Dan Evon, titled, “Doppelbangher:

Claim: Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado was a ‘porn star.’

mostly false

WHAT’S TRUE: Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado made an allegedly risqué appearance on a TV reality show and was pictured topless in Playboy magazine.

WHAT’S FALSE: Alicia Machado has not starred in a series of pornographic films.

Origin:

During the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton on 26 September 2016, the latter noted that her opponent had made several highly public sexist remarks over the course of his career. One instance cited by the Clinton occurred in 1996 when Trump called the recently crowned Miss Universe, Alicia Machado of Venezuela, “Miss Piggy” due to her post-pageant weight gain:

CLINTON: This is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs, and someone who has said pregnancy is an inconvenience to employers, who has said…

TRUMP: I never said that.

CLINTON: …. women don’t deserve equal pay unless they do as good a job as men.

TRUMP: I didn’t say that.

Alicia Machado

CLINTON: And one of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest. He loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them. And he called this woman “Miss Piggy.” Then he called her “Miss Housekeeping,” because she was Latina. Donald, she has a name.

TRUMP: Where did you find this? Where did you find this?

CLINTON: Her name is Alicia Machado.

Despite suggesting during the debate that he had said no such thing, Trump defended his 1996 remarks about Machado the following day:

Trump didn’t mention Machado’s name but did discuss the 1996 Miss Universe winner, who gained a purported 42 pounds after being crowned. “She was the worst we ever had. The worst. The absolute worst,” Trump, who was an owner of the pageant, said. “She was impossible. She was a Miss Universe contestant and ultimately a winner, who they had a tremendously difficult time with as Miss Universe.”

“Shortly afterwards, various web sites began reporting that Machado, the former Miss Universe, had also “appeared in pornographic videos”:

“Former Miss Universe winner Alicia Machado, who has been campaigning against Republican nominee Donald Trump for the Hillary Clinton campaign, has appeared in pornographic videos.”

clinton-alicia-machado-natmo-today-tease2-160928_c26d2fdc86192866f1a8d153124be302-today-inline-large“Shortly afterwards, various web sites began reporting that Machado, the former Miss Universe, had also “appeared in pornographic videos.”

“Snippets of an adult film starring Machado are available on multiple free porn websites. Machado also appeared topless in Mexican Playboy in 2006 and 2012. Hillary Clinton invoked the 1996 Miss Universe winner in an attack on Trump during Monday’s debate.”

“However, although searching on terms such as “Alicia Machado Porn Star” turns up several videos from free porn web sites, these videos don’t actually star Alicia Machado.”

“It should come as no surprise that celebrity nude photographs and sex videos drive major traffic on the Internet. But when legitimate photographs or videos are not available, hoaxsters often resort to creating their own. In some cases, this involves Photoshopping a famous face onto a nude or near-nude body (as was done with Sarah Palin) or changing the title of a sex video if it features a porn actress who bears a resemblance to a celebrity.”

clinton-alicia-machado-and-dt-donald-trump-called-former-miss-universe-alicia-machado-miss-piggy-says-she-s-the-worst“The latter is the case with Alicia Machado. In 2009, a video clip purportedly showing the former Miss Universe winner engaging in anal sex was circulated online, and that is the clip that now most frequently shows up in response to web searches on the phrase “Alicia Machado porn.” However, the woman seen in that video is not Alicia Machado — the clip was taken from the 2004 DVD Apprentass 4, which features porn actress Angel Dark, and was later retitled to suggest it showed Alicia Machado.”

(There) “followed a scandal that erupted over Machado’s appearance on the Spanish television program La Granja. In the course of that reality show, the former Miss Universe and Spanish actor Fernando Acaso were filmed having sex. After the incident, the Venezuelan actress and singer was booted from the program.”

clinton-dt-on-playboy-cover-screen_shot_2016-06-21_at_5-53-48_pm“However, the so-called “sex tape” stemming from that (reality show, La Granja ), which is nothing more than some grainy, night-vision footage of a couple of covered figures writhing in a bed, hardly qualifies as explicit. And reality television being what it is, the scene the tape depicts was quite possibly staged or fabricated.”

  1. I swear, every flippin’ day it’s one disgusting or horrible revelation after another. My husband commented today that it almost doesn’t matter whether he wins (perish the thought!) or loses at this point. If Clinton wins, his supporters will fervently believe that the election was “rigged”, and God only knows how they’ll react. I honesty am floored that this has gone so far. Remember when Trump boasted he could shoot someone in the Middle of Times Square and not lose any voters. I’m starting to think he’s right.😢

      • Anytime …. very cautiously, fingers crossed. I think this may be the beginning of his end. Did you hear about ‘no license for his charity foundation’ & the embargo w Cuba issues?
The sex tapes and Alicia have distracts from these major issues.
Hillary’s numbers are going up. I think/hope only his base is with him.
This is dangerous bc he’s opened that Pandora’s box. How do you close it up? Hate, bigotry, etc. will remain for a long time.
This man is pure evil! Hugs, sweet friend!

  2. The author of The Art of the Deal notes Trump, when confronted with a lie or bad behavior, often doubles down on that behavior or lie. This can be found in most definitions of narcissists that their nature cannot admit they may have been wrong. What he fails to realize is his doubling down is hurting himself and his party.

It still surprises me that people cannot see through his BS or schtick as Bill Maher calls it. It is so obvious to me and has been for years. And, when he adds the words “believe me” to the end of anything he says, the best thing you can do is “don’t.”

    • Dear Keith, I once read how a psychologist was taping DT because he is the perfect example of what a narcissist looks like. He was thrilled that he didn’t have to hire an actor.

He has been so obsessed with this gorgeous young lady, Alicia Machado that I can’t help but wonder if there is more to this story,

      • Gronda, being a narcissist, the target matters less. He goes by the modus operandi of “attack the attacker.” In addition to the disabled reporter he has famously made fun of, what gets little airplay is he made fun of Charles Krauthammer, the conservative columnist and Fox commentator for criticizing him. Krauthammer is paralyzed from the waist down, but Trump said that at least Trump could buy a pair of pants. The sad part of this is there are countless stories like this. Keith

He is so thin skinned. No matter who offends him, he has to respond in kind. Nothing is out of bounds.

The New York Times article published a piece today. Around 9/23/16, a NY Times reporter Ms. Craig received in the mail some copies of old tax forms by DT. The reporter said it took a long time to verify the documents. DT modus operandi is also to threaten to file suit which he has done v the NY Times. The income tax form is for 1995 when he listed his business losses as about $916 million dollars. The NY times stated that with this large a loss, he was in a position to not pay federal income taxes for the next 18 years.

  3. What confuses me is how a person like that is able to even run for President. Is there something going on in America?. I absolutely admire President Obama, a great statesperson and speaks beautifully. Secretary Clinton is a shining light also. I guess that hicks from Oz are not able to comprehend the American paradigm. Then again, I did not vote for our current leader, whom is a very wealthy businessman also. I am definitely left but would vote for the person who displays perspicacity, integrity and humaneness.

    • Dear Steele646,

Yes, there is something going on with a portion of the American people. Some are justifiably angry that they have been living with stagnant wages for over two decades, loss of jobs, loss of homes through foreclosures by banks after the 2008 US financial meltdown while these same institutions are making record profits. Some of his followers are the “deplorables.” These people want change but the messenger DT is so flawed. His followers do not seem to care, as they just want a protest vote.

I am just praying thar HRC wins, Gronda

    • Dear Rob,

Forgive me for not responding sooner. I thought I had but whatever I wrote did not post.

I have been pondering the mystery of why DT has reacted so over the top to the name Alicia Machado. Today, I was watching a news story showing her and DT being interviewed at the end of her reign. She was very pleasant but she was clear in stating that a little weight gain did not hinder her from fulfilling her contract for one year.

She did not cater to his ego which you know, would not endear her to him.

Anyway, he is the King of Sleaze or the “Ugly American.”

Thanks a million for your support and for this reblog. Ciao, Gronda

      • He is is outrageously sexist. It is this unspoken sexism in American Culture that makes his run so dangerously viable.

When Rudy Giuliani says would you rather have a genius over a woman he really means man.

        • Rob, Gronda, excuse me for weighing in, but while Trump is many things, he is most definitely not a genius. A genius may have figured out that he cannot use his Foundation money for personal use or donate it to a political campaign. That is not genius, that is fraud. Keith

        • Dear Keith and Rob,

He is definitely no business genius except as a con man and a reality talk show host.

He and his circle of buddies are all of the misogynist classification. As you stated above, Roger Ailes had to step down from FOX TV due to sexual harassment allegations. Both Rudy Giuliani and Newt Gingrich are on their third marriage with a history of cheating on their former wives; Steve Bannon has been charged in the past with domestic violence; Mr. Cohen went on record stating that it is not a criminal offense to rape your wife. Then there is Roger Stone. The following data is from Wikipedia: “In 1996, Stone resigned from a post as a volunteer spokesman in Senator Bob Dole’s campaign for president after The National Enquirer wrote that Stone had placed ads and pictures in racy swingers publications and a website seeking sexual partners for himself and his second wife, Nydia Bertrane Stone, whom he married in Las Vegas in 1992.” Stone denied the report but later the ads were proven to be true.

These guys could have been characters on the “Mad Men” series.

        • I hope I didn’t imply that I think Trump’s a genius. Most of Trump’s intellectual energy
goes into sustaining the grandiose delusion that he’s perfect and perfectly entitled.

Trump is actually quite stupid and easy to manipulate.

Donald Trump is a fabrication of our corrupt corporate media.

Corporate media tells the story of billionaire who is outrageous, uninformed and
considered dangerous to the safety of the Nation by nearly everyone responsible
          for protecting it.

Our corporate media has decided to stick to the narrative that Trump’s racist neo-Nazi
followers have legitimate political argument and that Trump represents the ‘real concerns’ that
          ‘many Americans’ have.

Our corporate media also has a bias against Hillary Clinton, which may represent
          a misogynist streak.

Trump is many things but what he’s not is an honest man of substance.

          Nor is he a genius.

        • Dear Rob,

It was Rudy Giuliani who tagged DT as a genius because DT took advantage of a tax loop hole by taking a loss of $916 million dollars on his federal income tax form in 1995 which allowed DT to not pay any federal taxes for the next few years. This loop hole was a legislative error which was corrected in 2002.

I believe Keith was being facetious. You never said anything of the kind.

Thanks for all you are doing. You are a superstar, Gronda

It was interesting to see Guiliani’s daughter supporting Clinton, so she does buy into her Dad’s bromance with The Donald. Keith

        • Last night I was concerned about a news report that seemed to vanish. It had to do with reports of illegal use of campaign funds from both candidates. This morning I wake up to news about the latest outrage from Trump. You have no doubt heard about the “Billy Bush” tape:

          https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-recorded-having-extremely-lewd-conversation-about-women-in-2005/2016/10/07/3b9ce776-8cb4-11e6-bf8a-3d26847eeed4_story.html?postshare=1181475875799079&tid=ss_tw

My first impulse was to dismiss this until I realized that there are several allegations of sexual harassment against Trump in the background and on this tape he describes sexually harassing a married woman shortly after he married his third wife.

Trumps defenders on twitter describe him in biblical terms: He’s a biblical hero who has sinned and found redemption. Hillary is a Delilah out to clip Trump’s hair.

The very least the Republicans can do is ask Trump to step down and ask Mike Pence to finish the campaign. Surely there’s a young Pence in training who will take the job of running for vice president.

But he makes sense as a GOP candidate.

          I don’t like Mike Pence.

But he doesn’t make me feel dirty.

        • Dear Rob,

I am chipping in with my two cents in response to your reply to Keith. I am reminded of a song my Mother loved, “What a difference a day makes.” With the latest 2005 DT vulgar video unearthed by “Access Hollywood” where DT spouts sexist rantings which were caught on a hot-mic, his misogynist leanings are on full display. On 11/8/16, women are going to slap him silly in the voting booth.

I think this time, DT has dug his own grave to where he will not be able to climb out of it. Ciao, Gronda

        • Gronda, Rob, this may be the man’s Waterloo, at least it should be. Not only is it sexual harassment, it is predatory, meaning he believes they will acquiesce to his fame and power. Remember, the case being brought against him, where he groped the fiancé of a business partner in Trump’s daughter’s bedroom? It does not seem so outlandish anymore, does it?

I recognize we have a month to go and an imperfect leading candidate, but I would never accuse her of what Trump has often been accused of – sexual harassment and misogyny. This latest Trump piece is not a surprise. I was thinking about her “boring” emails as she calls them. It would be much more interesting and indicting to see Trump’s emails.

And, if he brings up Bill’s infidelities. HRC’s answer is two fold. “Let’s be clear here – Bill Clinton is not running for President, I am. If he were, he would say I balanced the budget and had more jobs created on my watch than any other President. And, yes I am far from perfect, but thank God my wife stood by me. Next question.”
