aside Last Minute Plea To Fellow Americans: Please Do Not Vote For Donald Trump

clinton-russia-putin-side-by-side-trumpaaeaaqaaaaaaaacvaaaajdy1mte4yzflltc5y2qtndmzzc04zmfilti1yzg3mzgwnwfkmgDisclaimer: I have already early voted in Florida for Hillary Clinton. Until this year of 2016, I was a registered republican of the ilk like Colin Powell. I am now a “Nasty Woman” and an “Independent.”

Personally, I am primarily concerned about Donald Trump’s threat to our national security. There is a reason that the majority of republicans in the U.S. Intelligence field are strongly against him becoming our next U.S. President.

It is alarming to me to observe his pro-Putin stance and rhetoric while Russia has been hacking the DNC; Hillary Clinton’s Campaign manager, John Podesta’s emails; and the US State Department, in an attempt to cause mischief with the 2016 U.S. election season. Russia’s President Putin would love to have Donald Trump as an ally for weakening the powers of NATO.

election-cartoon-putin-and-trump-and-hacking-cartoon-sackHere are some additional facts: His former campaign manager, Paul Manafort has ties to Russia. He was the campaign manager for the former pro-Russian Ukrainian President, VIktor Yanukovych and Mr. Manafort received $12.7 million dollars in cash for his services from pro Russian agents. It is also true that Roger Stone and Paul Manafort are longtime friends and were former business partners. It was Roger Stone who encouraged his friend, Donald Trump to hire Mr. Manafort as his campaign manager. The former U.S. General Mike Flynn who is his foreign policy advisor is also a frequent guest on Russian RT TV shows. Then there was the successful maneuver to remove wording on the republican platform allowing the U.S. to sell arms to Ukrainians who are opposed to becoming part of Russia.

The Russian connection is real. The odds of Russia grooming DT for anything would make them absolutely nuts. After talking to Paul Manafort, they would know better. But they wouldn’t hesitate to use and play him like a violin. He is like the mouse crossing the river on the back of a fox. He wouldn’t last long. But the U.S. national security interests could be harmed in the process.

There is an endless list of reasons to not vote for Donald trump is partially reflected in Eugene Robinson’s latest Op-Ed piece in the Washington Post:

“This is no ordinary election. Time for a reminder of what’s at stake:

climate-change-great-pick-cartoon-what-if-its-a-hoaxClimate policy and the clean-energy economy:

“For anyone who accepts the scientific consensus that global warming poses a clear and present danger, there is only one choice. Hillary Clinton will continue along the path laid out by President Obama and other world leaders. Donald Trump has claimed, ridiculously, that climate change is a hoax invented by the Chinese.”

“For the first time, the three nations most responsible for spewing heat-trapping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere — China, the United States and India — have all formally agreed to curb emissions. The landmark Paris agreement is the biggest and most important step taken to date. Clinton would honor the accord; Trump would renounce it on his first day in office.”

climate-change-hysteria-cartoon-great-pick-9“The rest of the world is moving rapidly toward renewable sources of energy, which recently surpassed coal as the largest global source of power-generating capacity. According to the International Energy Agency, last year an estimated 500,000 solar panels were installed worldwide every day. Clinton would encourage the growth of the clean-energy sector, which has the potential to create millions of jobs. Trump promises a renaissance of fossil fuels — mining more coal, pumping more oil — even though the electric-power industry is moving on.”

cartoon-w-putin-and-trumpcsmbum8vmaavk45The Western alliance:

“Since the end of World War II, NATO has been the globe’s most important military alliance, a bulwark against Soviet — now Russian — expansionism and a source of peace and prosperity. It is no accident that the United States and Europe are the world’s biggest economic powers.”

“Trump has repeatedly and consistently expressed a desire for an alliance with Russia, even after it seized Crimea from Ukraine and intervened to save the murderous regime of dictator Bashar al-Assad in Syria. Trump often voices his admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin — who, according to U.S. intelligence analysts, has deployed an army of Internet hackers against the Democratic Party in a shocking and unprecedented attempt to meddle in our election. Trump has done nothing to refute Clinton’s claim that he would be Putin’s “puppet” in the White House.”

elections-good-trump-and-immigration-cartoon-morinImmigration reform:

“An estimated11 million undocumented immigrants live in the United States, most of them from Mexico and Central America. Clinton supports common-sense immigration reform that would secure the southern border, modernize our system of legal immigration and bring undocumented people out of the shadows by giving them legal status and a path toward citizenship. Trump does not.”

“Trump launched his campaign by saying of Mexican immigrants: “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.” He has called for building a physical wall along the entire border with Mexico and absurdly said that Mexico would somehow pay for it. And he pledges to deport all of the undocumented, in what would amount to a massive campaign of ethnic cleansing. Doing so would require a gargantuan and intrusive deportation force the likes of which this country has never imagined, let alone witnessed.”

election-gun-control-good-cartoon-content-3936_1The social fabric:

“The country is undergoing inexorable demographic change. By 2044, if not sooner, according to the Census Bureau, there will be no racial or ethnic majority; non-Hispanic whites, in other words, will be less than 50 percent of the population, becoming a minority just like every other group. This is already the case in California, Texas, New Mexico and Hawaii, and nationwide among children younger than 5.”

“Clinton understands and embraces these changes. Trump, by contrast, has become the champion of those whites who, like King Canute, would hold back the sea. It is no accident that he is avidly supported by the likes of David Duke, the unabashed white nationalist, Holocaust denier and former imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. When Trump says “Make America Great Again,” many minorities hear “Make America White Again.”

Fiscal sanity:

“Clinton proposes new spending — including to improve the Affordable Care Act — that would increase the national debt by $250 billion over the next decade, according to the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. Trump’s combination of huge tax cuts and increased spending, however, would balloon the debt by a crushing $10 trillion over the same period.”

  1. Gronda, thanks for this and all your efforts. If we look to the future, in addition to all of the reasons not to vote for Trump, there are three that will impact us all, but especially our young folks.

    – Climate change and the environment: Trump has said he will tear up the Paris Accord and double down on fossil fuels. He will also take the teeth out of the EPA. Our two biggest risks per the World Economic Forum facing the planet are climate change and water. Climate change impacts the latter, which has concerns with or without climate change. Sea water is threatening the Biscayne aquifer which provides water to Miami and othe South Floridians, e.g.
    – Debt: Trump’s economic plans have been measured by the Committee for a Responsible Budget to increase our $19 trillion debt by $5.3 trillion in the next ten years, versus Clinton’s impact of only $200 billion, 1/27 of Trump’s impact. Trump’s economic plan has been measured to cause a recession by UK based Oxford Economics and others, with Clinton’s plan being judged as neutral to positive.
    – Human rights: Under Trump the rights of all will suffer with his hateful and bigoted rhetoric. This is not just here, but abroad as well. I see a President Duterte in Donald Trump.

I have also cast my vote for Clinton. Thanks, Keith

    • Dear Keith,

Thanks for voting fot HRC in NC and for all the additional great reasons to not vote for DT but to vote for HRC.

I spent all morning knocking on doors to get out the vote for HRC. We still have early voting today and tomorrow.
I can tell you that the ground game here is impressive. There’s only 3 more days before we know the results,

If HRC can win in FL and NC, DT is toast.

      Ciao, Gronda

      • Best wishes. Apparently, Mr. Trump has been naughty on his wife and his friend, the owner of The Enquirer bought the story and sat on it. Unfortunately for Trump, the Wall Street Journal broke the story, a much more credible source. Plus, the story has two parts – his affair on Melania and the cover-up.

        • Dear Keith, WOW.

I’m a WSJ reader and so it will be my next read.

WSJ is a more conservative news source which makes this tidbit of a November Surprise, so much better to chew on.

Thanks for the heads up, Gronda

        • Dear Keith.

I am wondering why other media outlets have not picked up on this?

What a name? WSJ excerpt: “Mr. Trump’s relationship with Mr. Pecker, the chairman of American Media, is well-documented. In the 1990s, when Mr. Pecker was president and chief executive of Hachette Filipacchi Magazines, the publisher put out “Trump Style,” a custom quarterly magazine distributed to guests at Trump properties”

          Ciao, Gronda.

        • Gronda, other news outlets have picked up on his ten month affair with a former Playboy model, while married to Melania, even Fox News. I saw it noted on NBC tonight when they also mentioned Melania working without a Visa when she came here. To me there are three key points:
          – the alleged affair
          – the National Enquirer suppressing the story (it came out as they did not use it violating their agreement)
          – The National Enquirer indicting Trump’s GOP rivals while not publishing this story since the owner and Trump are friends. I guess the media is not rigged when it works for you.

    • Gronda, what bothers me most is Newsweek has done two excellent pieces, first on his global business dealings and the conflicts of interest that would be created if he won and, second, on his willful and purposeful deletion of emails in defiance of court orders. That is a crime. The rape case never got reported and she now has dropped the charges due to violence threats. And, the affair on Melania needs more airplay. When he says he is treated unfairly, that is not in keeping with reality. Keith

      • BREAKING NEWS: FBI Director James Comey has publicly stated that the review of emails is resolved and he is standing by July decision not to charge HRC for any criminal wrong doing.

This election process in the states has lasted for almost two years and it has been emotionally exhausting.
Again, thanks a million for stopping by and for this reblog.
