aside The President’s Last Word: US Is Withdrawing From 2015 Paris Climate Change Accord

The republican President Donald Trump and his fellow republican legislative sycophants plan to tell the American peoples that the president is taking this step to save American laborers’ jobs and because he wants to keep his campaign promise to do this.

This is a bold faced lie. THIS WILL COST THE AVERAGE JOE, AN INCREASE IN JOBS. Fossil fuel and coal mining jobs are on the decline because of automation and good old fashioned market forces. Energy companies have been utilizing more and more renewable energy sources because the costs have become more competitive.

As of 2016, there were only 53,000 coal mining jobs but there are over 500,000 jobs in renewable energy industries. Which direction should the US be heading?

The US solar industry employment grew by 25% in 2016. The industry now employs 260,000 peoples.

But now, we will be losing out in developing the better paying jobs of the future. THE CLEAN ENERGY SECTOR IS WHERE THE JOBS WOULD HAVE BEEN CREATED.

The president is acting as a Russian asset. The only winner here is Russia as this is what its officials wanted. This move places a major wedge between the US and the G7 European countries.

THIS WAS A NON-BINDING AGREEMENT. The president could have done every thing that he stated in his 6/1/17 speech without withdrawing from the accord. One foolish pundit on a TV news show who was reminded of this fact, stated that the president wanted to be authentic. Please, this is President Donald Trump who could give a dxxn about being authentic when it is something he wants.

Here is the latest…

On 6/1/17, Phillip Rucker and Chris Mooney of the Washington Post penned the following report, Trump to announce U.S. will exit Paris climate deal.”

“President Trump will make good on a campaign promise to “cancel” the Paris climate agreement, officials say, breaking away from a global effort to reduce greenhouse gases.”

“The decision followed an intense struggle within the administration over the fate of the agreement, with Ivanka Trump, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and business leaders urging the president to remain a party to the accord, and conservatives such as Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt calling for an exit.”

“Business leaders including Apple’s Tim Cook and Tesla’s Elon Musk had also lobbied Trump, arguing that the Paris accord’s “bottom-up” approach gave the U.S. latitude to adjust its targets and remain within the agreement. The United States will join two other nations — Syria and Nicaragua — in the U.N. climate group that do not participate in the accord.”
(The Country of Nicaragua did not sign on because the Paris Accord did not go far enough and Syria is fighting a war.)

  1. I can’t say I’m surprised at the news, Trump really is a fool. Now it’s totally up to the people of America to make their voice heard to all the nay saying Senators and Representatives. Next year is an election year.
I’m sure all the people who voted for Trump can’t believe this decision is right. And knowing just how badly he’s let them down so far and of his likely collusion with the Russians, their voice will help push him too.
I believe that he’s not acting in the best interests of your country but that he already knows this.

    • Dear David Prosser,

This tells me that DDT is Russia’s idiot. This was a voluntary non-binding agreement. He could have done everything he wanted without withdrawing. The only country that won in this deal is Russia. USA lost.

I am in tears over this.

  2. Gronda, this is not a surprise, but is a huge disappointment. Before the election, my concern was this President would make us into a pariah, ceding our leadership role. Unfortunately, my fears were valid. The man decided to back away from a global relationship to fight the biggest challenge we face.

Fortunately, the move to renewable energy has passed a tipping point and even the President cannot stop it. Plus, others in our country will take up the slack and do something this man hates – they will ignore him. Keith

    • Dear Keith,

You can just tell that this is one angry, little man who is just is lashing out on his last hurrah. And the Hxll with this country and doing what is right. When he finally gets his just desserts, he’ll look like Saddam Hussein, a pathetic soul but that is how his foolish republican legislative sycophants will appear, as well.

Others are stepping up to fill the breach like the Mayor of Pittsburgh and Governor Jerry Brown of California. It looks like when this withdrawal is permanent will be the day after the next president is sworn in and I find it hard to believe that Europe will not let us back out of this.

      • Gronda, business after business are telling the public they are not altering their renewable energy and conservation, including Duke Energy. Duke continues to shutter coal fired plants replacing them with natural gas and move forward with solar and wind energy, having just opened a new wind mill site in Scott Pruitt’s Oklahoma. Businesses are leaving the GOP behind on this issue, so they are in declining minority. It should be noted with conservative groups like ClearPath and Conservatives for Clean Energy are trying to move this party forward. DT will be ignored and highly criticized on this issue. Keith

  3. I knew this was coming since last week Gronda, but just hearing him spout lie after lie after lie this afternoon sent me over the edge! I agree with everything you’ve said here and I’d like to add one more reason why he withdrew: the Paris Climate Agreement is one more thing that’s part of President Obama’s legacy that he can destroy. No matter what his true mental issues are I have truly become to believe that Trump is pure evil.

  4. This is like the rain and the flowers. Trump has begun and the idiots are blooming. Except some of those appearing to be idiots are people who are actually positioning themselves to survive if Trump is removed from office. —- Suzanne

    • Dear Suzanne,

Those sycophant republican legislators can kiss their cushy jobs goodbye. They are not standing up to their president when he is dead wrong because they are dependent on the president’s supporters for votes to win their future elections.

They will learn that while they were looking at mirrors showing traffic in the back, they should have been looking in front where those who will vote them out were extremely motivated to kick them to the curb.

      Hugs, Gronda
