The following story is the initial nail in the coffin of the Trump family’s many denials of having done anything untoward between themselves and any Russian official during the 2016 republican presidential candidate’s campaign. They have all lied publicly and have withheld information on US security forms, about their numerous contacts with Russian officials.
After the New York Times contacted Donald Trump Jr. about a 7/11/17 pending story which would include pertinent emails, Donald Trump Jr. released a series of emails on his own accord.

On July 11, 2017, Jo Becker, Adam Goldman and Matt Apuzzo of the New York Times have broken this blockbuster update, “Russian Dirt on Clinton? ‘I Love It,’ Donald Trump Jr. Said.”
“On June 3, 2016, email sent to Donald Trump Jr. could hardly have been more explicit: One of his father’s former Russian business partners had been contacted by a senior Russian government official and was offering to provide the Trump campaign with dirt on Hillary Clinton.”
“The documents “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father,” read the email, written by a trusted intermediary, who added, “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”
“He replied within minutes: “If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.”
“Four days later, after a flurry of emails, the intermediary wrote back, proposing a meeting in New York on Thursday with a “Russian government attorney.”
“Donald Trump Jr. agreed, adding that he would likely bring along “Paul Manafort (campaign boss)” and “my brother-in-law,” Jared Kushner, now one of the president’s closest White House advisers.”
“On June 9, the Russian lawyer was sitting in the younger Mr. Trump’s office on the 25th floor of Trump Tower, just one level below the office of the future president.”
“Over the last several days, The New York Times has disclosed the existence of the meeting, whom it involved and what it was about. The story has unfolded as The Times has been able to confirm details of the meetings.”
“But the email exchanges, which were reviewed by The Times, offer a detailed unspooling of how the meeting with the Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, came about — and just how eager Donald J. Trump was to accept what he was explicitly told was the Russian government’s help.”
“The Justice Department, as well as the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, is examining whether any of President Trump’s associates colluded with the Russian government to disrupt last year’s election. American intelligence agencies have determined that the Russian government tried to sway the election in favor of Mr. Trump.”
“The precise nature of the promised damaging information about Mrs. Clinton is unclear, and there is no evidence to suggest that it was related to Russian-government computer hacking that led to the release of thousands of Democratic National Committee emails. But in recent days, accounts by some of the central organizers of the meeting, including Donald Trump Jr., have evolved or have been contradicted by the written email records.”
“The back story to the June 9 meeting involves an eclectic cast of characters the Trump family knew from its business dealings in Moscow.”
“The initial email outreach came from Rob Goldstone, a British-born former tabloid reporter and entertainment publicist who first met the future president when the Trump Organization was attempting to do business in Russia.”
“In the June 3 email, Mr. Goldstone told Donald Truman Jr.that he was writing on behalf of a mutual friend, one of Russia’s biggest pop music stars, Emin Agalarov. Emin, who professionally uses his first name only, is the son of Aras Agalarov, a real estate tycoon sometimes called the “Donald Trump of Russia.”
“The elder Agalarov boasts close ties to Mr. Putin: his company has won several large state building contracts, and Mr. Putin awarded him the “Order of Honor of the Russian Federation.”
“Mr. Agalarov joined with the elder Mr. Trump to bring the Miss Universe contest to Moscow in 2013, and the Trump and Agalarov families grew relatively close.”
“When Emin released a music video with a theme borrowed from the television show, The Apprentice, Mr. Trump, then the show’s star, made a cameo appearance, delivering his trademark line: “You’re fired!” The elder Mr. Agalarov had also partnered with the Trumps to build a Trump hotel in Moscow, but it has never came to fruition.”
“Emin just called and asked me to contact you with something very interesting,” Mr. Goldstone wrote in the email. “The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be useful to your father.”
“He added, “What do you think is the best way to handle this information and would you be able to speak to Emin about it directly?”
“There is no such title as Crown Prosecutor in Russia – the Crown Prosecution Service is a British term – but the equivalent in Russia is the Prosecutor General of Russia.”

I really am not buying any of the conspiracy theories along the lines of what you are describing. I am ready to admit that I could be wrong, but I don’t think so..
What this sound like to me (speculation only) is that a cut out set up the meet. She let the Trump team know that Russia would like to help his Dad win. At the time she did not have the goods. She was sent to feel out the Trump’s willingness to work with Russia. Donald Trump Jr. let her know what the campaign needed which was as much dirt on HRC as Russia could dig up. In return she let them know what she wanted which was to do away with the Magnitsky Act. The issue of helping Russia with the lifting of sanctions against Russia was either discussed at that time or soon after.
Remember it was in July 2016 when the Trump team folks were at work to water down words in the republican’s platform pertaining to the arming of Ukrainians.

Was The Lawyer the Only One On the Russian Side Attending This Meeting?
I did not mean to sound like I was suggesting a conspiracy, however it bothers me when anything involving this group of individuals seems so easy! I once again read the alleged emails and one of them in particular causes me to question the chain:

Please note, he says “he will bring them” after he said he would provide the names of who will attend! Does this indicate that there was more than one person meeting with the tRump group that day? I know the next email in the published chain lists Manifort and Kushner as intended attendees, but for some reason these emails just don’t feel right when I read them. Something seems rather amateurish not only in the composition but in the alleged order as well. I wonder if anyone has done the research as to passengers on the flight from Russia and the court case the lawyer was alleged to be involved, especially the date and time it ended on the day of the meeting…

Our presidential election last year was bought and paid for by Vladimir Putin. The current batch of goons in the White House is their under false pretenses and every last one needs to be removed. Yes, I am disgusted with the congressional GOP members that they are still licking his boots and trying to find a way to justify it, to make it seem ‘normal’. Nothing … I repeat, NOTHING about this situation is normal. This is, in my opinion, far worse than Watergate, and it is 1,000 times worse than Bill Clinton’s affairs! Oh how I long to be back in the days of the scandal-FREE Obama administration!

Just because Trump praises his son for being open and transparent does not mean Jr. should be excused for his alleged illegalities. Yet he continues to use the Witchhunt spin on Twitter. I wonder if he would save himself by throwing his son “under the bus” to contain the political damage?

The answer is yes. The Dad is definitely not a good mentor for young men. He acts like a mafia don. I can’t imagine treating a family member like this but this is nothing for DDT. i WISH i COULD TELL THE YOUNG MAN TO GET A SPINE, SPILL THE BEANS, SHOW REMORSE AND DEPEND ON THE MERCY OF THE COURTS.
I would tell him this because this would be the right thing to do and because there is a player, Paul Manafort who is in position to spill the beans and he will eventually be flipped by the FBI, IF THIS HASN’T ALREADY HAPPENED.
There is no way that Donald Trump Jr. DID NOT SHARE WHAT HE CONSIDERED TO BE GREAT NEWS with his Dad. Did the Dad shut this whole thing down and do what is right? NO! And he exposed all his family members to legal jeopardy.and real harm.
All of this came out into the open because Jared Kushner, being advised by competent Washington DC lawyers got him to legally mitigate his liability exposure by updating his gov. disclosure forms. Jared already has a Dad who went to prison because of his lack of ethics.
