It’s not as if we don’t have enough guns in the USA to where now, anyone could just make a 3-D gun based on internet directions. An enterprising gun advocate wants the instructions on how to make a 3-D gun which can kill, to be accessible via the internet, and he has taken his case to court.

On August 27, 2018, Tiffany Hsu of the New York Times penned the following report, “3-D Printed Gun Plans Must Stay Off the Internet for Now, a Judge Rules:”
“Cody Wilson, the self-described crypto-anarchist who has tried for years to post blueprints for 3-D printed guns online, will have to keep waiting, a federal judge ruled on Monday.”
“The judge ruled in favor of attorneys general from 19 states and Washington, D.C., who contend that 3-D printed guns are difficult to detect and trace, and constitute a threat to national safety. The ruling means Mr. Wilson cannot publish the blueprints until the issues raised in their lawsuit are resolved.”
“The case has raised questions about free speech, gun regulation, states’ rights and trade rules. President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions have weighed in.”
In granting a preliminary injunction, Judge Robert S. Lasnik of United States District Court in Seattle wrote that Mr. Wilson’s First Amendment rights “are dwarfed by the irreparable harms the states are likely to suffer if the existing restrictions are withdrawn and that, overall, the public interest strongly supports maintaining the status quo through the pendency of this litigation.”

I’ve just been online and within moments found 3D printers at 161 pounds and 170 pounds.That’s no price at all and any thug can afford that. If plan can be downloaded to make a gun all hell will be let loose and no registration marks to worry about. If it happens in this country no doubt bullets will be sold online too but would they be freely available to buy in the US? The World has gone mad hat anyone should even consider selling these plans, never mind what childish title he gives himself.What the heck is Crypto anarchist.

Normally, I would say that these plans on how to make a 3-D gun via the internet being allowed unchecked, is very unlikely.
It’s with a sickened heart that I can no longer say this with any level of conviction.
But then judges are human and they can be the victim of death threats. If I were in their shoes, the decision would be easy, a big fat NO. Let’s pray that common sense prevails.

Gronda, facilitating 3D gun production may be one of the most unwise moves a government entity could do. It is not a surprise that the White House supports it, as thinking things through is not his strong suit. Keith

Dear Keith,
Allowing instructions to be put on the internet on how to make a 3-D gun, would make all of us including President Trump, less safe. He may want to rethink this idea.

The idea of anyone gaining access to 3-D killing machines terrifies me. Where is the respect for life, the common sense? I scream NO!!!!

Dear Carole Hopkins,
It’s beyond outrageous that a 3-D gun is feasible as this puts young peoples who are very savvy with computer technology with easy access to guns that they can manufacture themselves, and which are not easily detectable by current scanning machines.
What could possibly go wrong? There is no way that the instructions on how to make these 3-D guns should be available on the internet.
