On September 26, 2018, Michael Avenatti made good on his claim that a 3rd victim of Judge Kavanaugh’s sexual assaults during drunken high school parties, would come forward by 9/26/18.
Her name is Julie Swetnick. So far, the other accusers are Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Debbie Ramirez. If this additional story doesn’t prompt the 11 male senators sitting on the US Senate Judiciary Committee to approve a more extensive FBI background check into the history of the Supreme Court Nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh and the facts surrounding allegations by at least 3 women regarding being sexually harmed by him during their high school and college days, nothing will.

Below is my correspondence to Mr. Davis of moments ago, together with a sworn declaration from my client. We demand an immediate FBI investigation into the allegations. Under no circumstances should Brett Kavanaugh be confirmed absent a full and complete investigation.
“Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, in response to the affidavit, said, “This morning Michael Avenatti provided a declaration to the Judiciary Committee. Committee lawyers are in the process of reviewing it now.”
“Avenatti had for several days said he had a client, until now unnamed, who had been aware of gang rapes connected to Kavanaugh. His release of Swetnick’s affidavit to the chief counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee comes a day before Kavanaugh and another woman accusing him of sexual assault are due to testify.”
“That woman, Christine Blasey Ford, said Kavanaugh held her down on a bed and grinded against while Judge watched during a get together at a house in Maryland in the early 1980s, when they were all high school students.”
The New Yorker has published a second woman’s account.
Deborah Ramirez, a Yale University classmate of Kavanaugh’s, alleged that Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a gathering in front of their peers.
“Kavanaugh has categorically denied both of those allegations, and has said that “I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone” in a Fox News interview that aired (9/24/18).”

This is a no brainer Gronda. The hearing should be postponed and the FBI should be asked to investigate these accusations. It’s the fairest way to proceed for everyone involved, including Judge Kavanaugh.

By now we know that the GOP have dug in to where they are operating under a siege mentality. They are illustrating their tribal allegiance.
There is no fact finding mission set up at the US Senate Judiciary Committee for the 9/27/18 hearing. It is a set up to make Dr. Ford, an unbelievable witness.
I’m furious over these developments.

No thanks necessary Gronda. I’ve been trying to stay away from the news in part because I’ve been having a rough patch with migraines, but this is quite literally making me sick. The news just broke about an anonymous letter that was sent about an incident that took place in 1998, well past his “youthful” days. I’m praying when we wake up tomorrow either his nomination will have been withdrawn or at the very least, the hearing postponed.

These GOP Grumpy Old Perverts on the US Senate Judiciary Committee just don’t get it. He may be one way when he’s not drinking alcohol but he becomes abusive when he’s had too much.
We don’t give folks like Bill Cosby a free ride for their wrongdoings because they act nice most of the time. These senators know Judge Kavanaugh on a personal level but they haven’t met the other one when he’s been drinking.

With Julie Swetnick being the third woman to come forward with accusations against Brett Kavanaugh, there is absolutely no excuse for tomorrow’s hearing to be postponed and the FBI to be brought in to investigate. The one thing that is glaringly obvious is that we have learned NOTHING in the 27 years since the Anita Hill/Clarence Thomas hearings. Thank you Gronda for another well researched post.

The GOP in the US Congress are in siege mentality. They have their talking points that all these women are part of a left wing conspiracy, out to bring down a good man.
While it is true that democrats are politically motivated, it is also true that these women have credible accusations to lodge against Judge Kavanaugh to where they deserved to be listened to and believed.

This is insane. There is no harm done if FBI were to do an extended background check of Judge Kavanaugh. The reason he passed 6 past FBI checks is that they go back 10 years which is not sufficient in this case.
It looks like Judge Kavanaugh undergoes a personality change when he has imbibed too much alcohol to where he loses it.
Many of the GOP members have worked with Judge Kavanaugh and they have never seen this other side. They need to deal with the reality that this other dark side exists.

This could be another nail in Kavanaugh’s coffin but only if the committee play straight and have the FBI do a thorough investigation. Kavanaugh himself should consider resigning if there’s any chance the FBI would turn anything up. Where does Trump find them all, is there a Misogynist’s Club where he is?

There are too many ifs when it comes to these GOP members in the US Senate. They want Judge Kavanaugh, no matter what because their base of voters want him. It seems like this is a situation where he is perfectly fine when he is in his work environment. But when he has imbibed too much alcohol, he becomes belligerent and aggressive. The republicans who have worked with him have not dealt with this side.
Unfortunately the other side is real. There is now a 4th woman. But the republicans in the Senate Judiciary Committee are still planning to go forward with the hearing with Dr. Ford on 9/27/18.
The problem with the past 6 FBI background checks is that they go back only 10 years which was not far enough to pick up on this problem. I feel sorry for his wife and daughters.
