Dear Media and fellow Non Trumpian voters, please discount/ pay no attention to the republican President Donald Trump’s claims about the women protesting the confirmation of the SCOTUS nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh during the first week of October 2018, as the equivalent of mob rule. At his rallies and elsewhere, he has been describing these women as being out of control, creating conditions for violence. This contrived outrage is in the same category of all his other lies, with no basis in fact and reality, but designed solely to motivate his base to action.
In short, this is his way of grabbing added media attention, as even FOX TV is no longer televising his campaign rallies because the ratings for these events have dipped. But he never gives up. For example, on the 11th of October 2018, Kanye West, the rapper, with his mental illness in full display, was trotted out as his guest to the delight of the media. In the morning he managed to participate in a 45 minute interview/ rant with FOX TV hosts. Just yesterday, he did an op-ed piece about medicare for USA Today which fact checkers made mincemeat of it. Within the first week of October 2018, he has held no less than 6 campaign rallies.
He’s finally facing the possible reality that there may be unintended consequences for his own lack of civility, the way he mistreats and bullies others.
For those GOP lawmakers, there are consequences to supporting a leader of the ilk of the republican President Donald Trump, who singularly committed to a white, nationalistic Evangelical theocracy that continually vilifies Muslims, degrades women, condemns LGBTQ people, and shuns foreigners—accuses non Trumpians of identity politics, mob rule for daring to protest, but then who have the chutzpah to claim victim-hood when they rule all three branches of government.
How quickly we forget all of the president’s other ‘fake news’ contrived outrages to further his personal interests. The following is a partial list from the 9/13/ 18 Business Insider report by Maxwell Tani, Michael Kranz and John Haltiwanger:
“It claimed Rafael Cruz was photographed in the early 1960s handing out pro-Fidel Castro leaflets with President John F. Kennedy’s assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald.”
“Trump claimed he’d deployed private investigators who “could not believe what they’re finding” about Obama’s place of birth.”
“But Foster’s death spawned conspiracy theorists who questioned whether the Clintons themselves were involved in Foster’s death.” (This allegation was debunked by 2 major investigations.)
“There were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey, where you have large Arab populations. They were cheering as the World Trade Center came down,” Trump said during an ABC interview.”
He added: “I know it might be not politically correct for you to talk about it, but there were people cheering as that building came down — as those buildings came down. And that tells you something. It was well-covered at the time.”
However, there is no evidence to suggest there were any American celebrations aired on television following the attacks. Some media reports at the time cited rumors of celebrations in New Jersey. But reports were never substantiated, and there’s no evidence these protests were broadcast on national television.
“More recently though, after various allegations of sexual harassment in media and politics have begun to surface, Trump has walked back these comments.”
“We don’t think that was my voice,” Trump reportedly told a senator, according to The New York Times.”

“Terrible!” Trump wrote, “Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”
“PolitiFact and other outlets have debunked the claim. An Obama spokesman also issued a response to the allegation, saying: “Neither Barack Obama nor any White House official under Obama ever ordered surveillance of any U.S. citizen.”

“The really short version clips off the second sentence. But even then all you have is Clinton saying that we’re past the time of being civil. There’s a lot of distant between “not civil” and “inflicting extralegal violence on innocent Republicans in pursuit of a revolution intended to turn America into a socialist hellhole like Venezuela.” Which is what Republicans think she’s saying.”
“The full version of Clinton’s answer to a question from CNN’s Christiane Amanpour about the Supreme Court nominations of Brett Kavanaugh and Merrick Garland makes it even clearer that Clinton is talking about winning elections and then reestablishing regular order and other norms in Congress, not violence:”

That’s why I believe if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and/or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again. But until then, the only thing that the Republicans seem to recognize and respect is strength.
You heard how the Republican members, led by Mitch McConnell, the president, really demeaned the confirmation process, insulted and attacked not only Dr. Ford but women who were speaking out. You know, look, I remember Republican operatives shutting down the voting in Florida in 2000. I remember the swift voting of John Kerry. I remember the things that even the Republican party did to John McCain in 2000. I remember what they did to me for 25 years, the falsehood, the lies, which, unfortunately, people believed because the Republicans have put a lot of time, money and effort in promoting them.
So when you’re dealing with an ideological party that is driven by the lust for power, that is funded by corporate interest who want a government that does its bidding, it’s hard — you can be civil but you can’t overcome what they intend to do unless you win elections.
And so, the answer to everything is to get back to a balance, to get back to what is called regular order. They don’t even have committee processes. They — the idea that they wouldn’t seek and obtain all of the written record from Kavanaugh, that they would not have done a full investigation, that is not the way that they treat Democrats.
Unless we win and we say to the people of our country, “Look, we need to protect the rule of law. We need to protect processes that are in place in the Congress and the government to protect you, to protect what you care about.” So, this should go both ways, and that’s what I’m hoping for.

Clinton knows we are already in the danger zone when it comes to the political temperature. Her comments, then, are as reckless as bringing a can of gasoline to a bonfire.

Plausible deniability. That’s what Hillary Clinton now has if Republicans are injured or killed by the mobs. She wasn’t calling for “violence,” just incivility toward political opponents.
The problem is that … her words have enabled thousands of crazies who believe the hysteria against Republicans and Trump that has been ginned up by those who know exactly what they’re doing when they seek to create an atmosphere of violence and hate.
Clinton has given her blessing for left-wing radicals to tear the country apart.

The picture of the people at the Trump rally, making crude and obscene gestures in front of small children, yelling until they are red-faced … THAT is what ‘mob-rule’ looks like … THAT is what I call inciting violence. How proud they must all be of themselves for their bullying, disgusting actions. And when I hear Trump say that there will be violence if the GOP loses its majority in the mid-terms … that is inciting violence … that is the way a 5-year-old acts, not a world leader. We are a rudderless ship, for we have no captain, no leader … only an ignorant bully. Sigh.

Dear Jill,
The president and his GOP minions are the deer looking at the headlights coming at them at record speeds but they are so stuck in a substance made of their old ways, that they can’t move fast enough to avoid the inevitable of what’s coming.
But they are desperately trying, from gas-lighting the public with their propaganda campaign of lies, suppressing the votes of thousands who could vote for Democratic candidates, gerrymandering, and you name it.
We do need to send them a message to where they will face that “we the people” voters count and that they had better learn to pay attention to us as well as their mega donors who I pray lose a ton of monies trying to rescue this bunch from the consequences of their actions.

I wish I had a computer guru that I could ask for help. I used to ask Xena for help as she’s a whiz on the computer, but I can no longer do this.
I’m going to have to find someone.
I get so upset as I learn about how these healthcare insurance companies micro manage the care of serious illnesses like cancer. When President Trump yells about what insurance companies will do like rationing care if there is ‘Medicare for All’, I want to scream back, and what does he think they are doing now?

What is so disheartening is no matter WHAT he says, there’s no recourse. Yes, the news media can chew him up and spit him out … but all he has to do his holler “Fake News!” and his deplorables eat it up. They’re totally convinced it’s the “liberals” that are destroying this country and NOTHING anyone says to the contrary will be accepted.

Let’s just pray Dems win the majority of seats in the US House of Representatives in November 2018. That gives us an opportunity to be a check on the president, starting with at least the House exercising / doing its oversight duties.
We can be a true check. Let’s pray that Dems use this opportunity smartly by focusing on fixing things via legislation like a new voting rights act and a new set of ethics rules.

For the next 3 weeks, I plan to be MIA as I do my volunteering bit to get out the vote.
I live in Florida, where there has been a concerted effort to register young peoples and their are grass root efforts to get them to the voting booths. This is still a swing state where every vote literally does count.
Your attitude is widespread. We can’t take anything for granted.

Thanks for your kind words. I’d like to live with a good quality of life for a few more decades. LOL! Today had been a better day, but I’m slowing down now and ready to take a nap.
Medicare for all will only be a benefit to citizens if it includes all parts and not just Part A. We need an entire re-working of insurance companies.
