There comes a point, where a reasonable person has to ask, was the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with his extreme right coalition partners guilty of gross negligence or willful blindness when ignoring timely, ample, detailed intelligence from multiple sources about Hamas’s attack plan, prior to its October 7, 2023 brutal massacre of Israeli civilians.
The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been vehemently denying that Egypt warned him about the imminent attack planned by the Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas in Gaza. He’s used the US ex-president’s favorite term by describing any suggestions that Israel had received any specific warnings in advance of the deadly incursion as “totally fake news”.

He’s lying…
The NY Times has “previously reported that Israeli officials had blueprints of the Hamas’ plans more than a year before the Oct. 7 attack but chose to regard an actual attack as unlikely.”
In previous blogs, I’ve posed questions like:
“How is it Hamas had in its possession detailed data on how to attack over 60 targets within Israel, when much of this information isn’t public knowledge?”
“How is it that Israeli soldiers had been collecting and sharing intel within weeks of the October 7, 2023 massacre in Israel which described war-like military maneuvers and training in full view along the Gaza border by HAMAS that were ignored by the Israeli decision makers?”
“With Israel being the size of Delaware, how is that the highly rated Israeli Military (IDF) took anywhere from 7 to over 20 hours to respond to an ongoing slaughter of Israeli civilians?”
In addition, the IDF Israeli military has a history of being capable of micro-targeting specific Hamas terrorists. This begs the question as to why Israel has been conducting a high-intensity, scorched earth attack in Gaza despite warnings against this tactic by US and other allies?

The October 9, 2023 Times of Israel reports about Israel’s micro-targeting capabilities against Hamas:
“Israel withdrew troops and settlers from the Gaza Strip in 2005, stripping it of a close handle on the happenings in the territory. But even after Hamas overran Gaza in 2007, Israel appeared to maintain its edge, using technological and human intelligence.”
“It claimed to know the precise locations of Hamas leadership and appeared to prove it through the targeted killing of terror leaders in surgical strikes, sometimes while they slept in their bedrooms. Israel has known where to strike underground tunnels used by Hamas to ferry around fighters and arms, destroying miles (kilometers) of the concealed passageways.”
(And how is it that) “despite those abilities, Hamas was able to keep its plan under wraps. The ferocious attack, which likely took months of planning and meticulous training and involved coordination among multiple terror groups, appeared to have gone under Israel’s intelligence radar.”

Below articles detail how Israel had ample warning regarding Hamas’s October 7th attack on Israel…
The October 9, 2023 Times of Israel article, “Egypt intelligence official says Israel ignored repeated warnings of ‘something big:”
Excerpts:
“It has reported that “Egypt’s Intelligence Minister General Abbas Kamel personally called Netanyahu only 10 days before the massive attack that Gazans were likely to do “something unusual, a terrible operation,” according to the Ynet news site.”
“Mounting questions over Israel’s massive intelligence failure to anticipate and prepare for a surprise Hamas assault were compounded Monday (October 9, 2023) when an Egyptian intelligence official said that Jerusalem had ignored repeated warnings that the Gaza-based terror group was planning “something big” — which included an apparent direct notice from Cairo’s intelligence minister to the prime minister.”
“The Egyptian official said Egypt, which often serves as a mediator between Israel and Hamas, had spoken repeatedly with the Israelis about “something big,” without elaborating.”
“We have warned them an explosion of the situation is coming, and very soon, and it would be big. But they underestimated such warnings,” the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the content of sensitive intelligence discussions with the media, told The Associated Press.”
Unnamed Egyptian officials told the site they were shocked by Netanyahu’s indifference to the news and said the premier told the minister the military was “submerged” in troubles in the West Bank.

As per an October 12, 2023 BBC report, “Egypt warned Israel days before Hamas struck, US committee chairman says:”
“Israel was warned by Egypt of potential violence three days before Hamas’ deadly cross-border raid, a US congressional panel chairman has said.”
“House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee head Michael McCaul told reporters of the alleged warning.”
“We know that Egypt has warned the Israelis three days prior that an event like this could happen,” Mr McCaul told reporters following a closed-door intelligence briefing on Wednesday for lawmakers about the Middle East crisis, according to AFP news agency.”
“I don’t want to get too much into classified, but a warning was given,” the Texas Republican added. “I think the question was at what level.”
“An Egyptian intelligence official told the Associated Press news agency this week that Cairo had repeatedly warned the Israelis “something big” was being planned from Gaza.”
“We have warned them an explosion of the situation is coming, and very soon, and it would be big. But they underestimated such warnings,” said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.”
“The Cairo official said Israeli officials had played down the threat from Gaza, instead focusing on the West Bank.”

As per the Foreign Policy report, “How Israeli Intelligence Underestimated Hamas” by Elena Grossfeld:
Excerpt:
“After years of undermining the Palestinian National Authority (in the West Bank) in its quest for statehood, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was content with what looked like a successful divide-and-conquer approach in his dealings with Hamas. Recognizing a militant organization affiliated with Hezbollah and Iran as the de facto ruler of Gaza, Israel conducted negotiations with Hamas using Egypt’s help.”
As per November 22, 2023 Haaretz editorial, “Netanyahu Knew. Netanyahu Ignored. Netanyahu Is Responsible:”
Excerpts:
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was given updates from the Israel Defense Forces’ Military Intelligence Directorate concerning the possibility of a Hamas attack. It is the same intelligence body that Netanyahu tweeted about on October 29 at 1:10 A.M., asserting that “under no circumstances and at no stage was Prime Minister Netanyahu warned about Hamas’ intending to go to war.”
