I was recently asked by a fellow blogger from across the pond, why there are so many Americans backing the GOP MAGA ex-president? After all there has to be reason behind there being millions of US citizens voting for a truth challenged, very flawed GOP MAGA ex-president to become the 47th US president, placing the state of the US democracy at serious risk of being transformed into an autocracy.
My answer is 100% speculative.
It has become obvious to me that those financially backing and supporting the GOP MAGA ex-president’s bid to become the 47th US president want an autocracy, while the coalition of non-Trump voters know that they’re in a battle to preserve US democracy, the US Constitution, the “rule of law,” nonpartisan justice, etc.
So, to win this civil war (democracy v autocracy), Americans who understand that the US democracy is at serious risk, must exercise the power of their votes by voting for (D) democrat party candidates up and down the ticket. But for those who prefer a Russian/ Putin style of autocracy headed by a Fascist-like dictator, then they’ll be voting for (R) Russian- Republicans.
Record-breaking numbers of Americans in multiple early-voting US states are already exercising their voices with the power of their votes. Use it or lose it!
The GOP MAGAs who prefer an autocracy are corporate executives, wealthy titans, other leaders who want less taxes and deregulation, who’ll continue to deny climate change science while pushing for greater fossil fuel usage, who’ll stop the passage of laws restricting gun usage. They want to maintain the status quo regarding pricing practices by pharmaceutical, banking, insurance industries as Evangelicals reach their objective of a nationalized anti-abortion religion.
What average Americans don’t get is that under a Russian style of autocracy, there’ll be no more speaking one’s mind if in disagreement with those in power without negative consequences. Unions will become extinct like the “dodo bird.” What workers’ rights?
The dark money power players backing the ex-president have a long history for being strongly anti-union. Once a dictatorship has been installed using the Project 2025 blueprint on how to accomplish this, then future elections will become pro-forma as seen in autocratic governments like Russia. Americans will’ve lost their voices via the power of their votes. Union workers will become collateral damage in this civil war.

These same mega-moneymen only tolerate the likes of the GOP MAGA ex-president because of his magical influence with his cult-like support from millions of voters. The ex-president may realize that he’s being used but he needs the power of the US presidency to end his criminal liability for past alleged wrongdoings and for the millions of dollars to help him win despite his failing mental acuity.
The GOP MAGA corporate leaders and wealthy right-wing extremists have tried donating heavily to substitute candidates like Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis and Ohio’s US Senator JD Vance, but they’ve figured out that it’s only the ex-president who’s capable of motivating his millions of cult-like followers to go to the polling booth. It’s the Ohio US Senator JD Vance, a follower of the right-wing thinker Curtis Yarvin who advocates for dictatorship, that they really want at the helm.
As per VOX, “tech startup founder Curtis Yarvin has laid out a critique of American democracy: arguing that it’s liberals in elite academic institutions, media outlets, and the permanent bureaucracy who hold true power in this declining country, while the US executive branch has become weak, incompetent, and captured.”
“But he stands out among right-wing commentators for being probably the single person who’s spent the most time gaming out how, exactly, the US government could be toppled and replaced — “rebooted” or “reset,” — with a monarch, CEO, or dictator at the helm.”

Right-wing billionaire tech giants like Peter Thiel, Elon Musk and David Sachs among others had strongly lobbied the GOP MAGA ex-president to choose JD Vance as his vice-presidential pick. Mr. Musk, Mr. Sachs and others have set up the Pro Trump America PAC, backed by tech entrepreneurs like Shaun Maguire, the brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss to financially back the Trump-Vance GOP MAGA ticket. All of these GOP MAGA big moneymen are spending over $360 million dollars within a 3-month timeframe, just to fight for their chance to see in the near future, the USA being led by an autocratic dictator like the US Senator JD Vance.

As per Axios, “Meet the billionaires funneling millions into the 2024 race,” Here’s a look at some of the megadonors who’d benefit from the US becoming an autocracy:
Elon Musk
“The Tesla CEO is one of the newest Republican megadonors. He’s given almost $75 million in three months to his Trump-supporting PAC.”
- “Musk has become an increasingly influential figure in Republican politics, often using his X feed to echo GOP anxieties over immigration and transgender issues.”
- “Musk appeared at a Trump rally earlier this month.”
Timothy Mellon
“Billionaire businessman Timothy Mellon is one of Trump’s biggest backers, having given the pro-Trump Super PAC Make America Great Again $125 million this election cycle, per OpenSecrets.”
- “Mellon also donated $25 million to support Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s independent presidential campaign and $10 million to the Congressional Leadership Fund, which supports GOP House candidates.”
Miriam Adelson
“The widow of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson and a staunch Israel supporter, Miriam Adelson gave $95 million to Preserve America, her pro-Trump PAC, during the third quarter of the year, per an FEC filing released Tuesday.”
Dick and Liz Uihlein
“The Uihleins, founders of the shipping company ULine, poured nearly $49 million into their conservative Restoration PAC in the last quarter of the year, according to FEC filing released Tuesday.”
- “That brings their total donations to the PAC equal to roughly $59 million in 2024.”
In the beginning around 1971 at the latest…
It starts with big money billionaires, millionaires, corporate titans from the fossil fuel, pharmaceutical, insurance, banking, gaming industries along with other ultra-right-wing conservative leaders with the goal of transforming the US democracy into an autocracy. These ultra-right folks are transactional in that they don’t care about air and water quality, raising the living wages for workers, providing for health insurance, and other major safety-net social programs, etc. Their goals are simply that of being burdened with less taxes and regulations. These extreme power players have been around forever, but their influence was strengthened with the US Supreme Court’s past 2010 (Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission) ruling that allows corporations to donate billions of dollars anonymously with no limit in order to bolster GOP MAGA candidates’ election campaigns.
Over a 50-year period the ultra-right has been donating heavily to republican party candidates, now known as GOP MAGAs (the Grand Old Party Make America Great again cultists), buying influence, so that now, it’s the pro-business conservative anti-abortion justices who now own the US Supreme Court.
Mega-money donor Elon Musk recently joined the ex-president on the campaign trail. He’s been heading and funding voter out-reach operations in key swing states like Wisconsin as the ex-president’s ground game had been coming up short in subcontracting voter outreach contacts.
Because Mr. Musk has contracts with the US government worth billions of dollars, he’s being very transactional when he bolsters Mr. Trump’s candidacy. In return, Mr. Trump has committed to make Mr. Musk head of a new “government efficiency commission” with wide-ranging powers to recommend cuts and changes to federal rules.

The big money power players like Elon Musk have been using their proximity to the ex-president and their access to media outlets like (X) Twitter, owned by Mr. Musk, and FOX TV news to spread hateful fear-mongering disinformation regarding immigration, voter election fraud, etc. to motivate GOP MAGAs to vote in record numbers in November 2024.
As Anne Applebaum points out in The Atlantic, the GOP MAGA ex-president “uses the language of Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini to rouse hate and violence.”
This 2024 election is probably the ultra-right’s power brokers’ last viable chance to accomplish their mission of morphing the US democracy into an autocracy. The conservative think-tank Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 922-page manual is the blueprint for this.

“Vance’s way of operating “pushes beyond precedent, tradition, and norms,” and according to the NYT, he is “an ambitious ideologue who relishes the spotlight.” He is “good friends” with the Heritage Foundation’s president, Kevin Roberts, who in March said that Vance “is absolutely going to be one of the leaders of our movement.” (“Privately, we were really rooting for him,” Roberts told reporters at the convention.) Vance has endorsed Heritage and championed many of its Project 2025 proposals (see below), including mass firings of civil service employees and clearing out the deep state. He said “corruption in our institutions” is what changed his mind about Trump.”

All we can do as non-Americans is watch and wait to see how badly the conservative Republicans are going to cheat in order to try to win America’s upcoming election.
America needs every voter to vote in 2024. It cannot allow smaller groups to dominate the election. AMERICA MUST SPEAK AS A WHOLE.
This is what the rest of the world wants to see.

From your mouth to God’s ears, Americans in record numbers have to use the power of their vote to preserve our democracy. The good news is that this is happening. In the states that allow citizens to vote early, the number of voters showing up at the polling stations are off the charts.

Again, thanks for the reblog. The more I study this situation, the more I become convinced that JD Vance is being set up to take over from the GOP MAGA ex-president, as soon as possible.
The ex-president is an opportunist with no real north star, but the opposite can be said of JD Vance and those who back him, the GOP big moneymen who want autocracy and the ultra-conservative architects of the Project 2024 blueprint.
