This is breaking news which has been reported on by Kathleen Kennedy Townsend for Politico. The story was published just before midnight on 9/19/16 by Darren Samuelsohn.
This news can be a groundbreaker for Hillary Clinton. Over the years a friendship has blossomed between the two former presidents, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. It has been obvious that the Bush Family members are not fans of Donald Trump. Although Presidents to make no further comments about the upcoming elections, history is being made.
Excerpts are:
“Former President George H.W. Bush is bucking his party’s presidential nominee and plans to vote for Hillary Clinton in November, according to a member of another famous political family, the Kennedys.”
“Bush, 92, had intended to stay silent on the White House race between Clinton and Donald Trump, a sign in and of itself of his distaste for the GOP nominee. But his preference for the wife of his own successor, President Bill Clinton, nonetheless became known to a wider audience thanks to Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, the former Maryland lieutenant governor and daughter of the late Robert F. Kennedy.”
“On Monday, Townsend posted a picture on her Facebook page shaking hands next to the former president and this caption: “The President told me he’s voting for Hillary!!”
“In a telephone interview, Townsend said she met with the former president in Maine earlier today, where she said he made his preference known that he was voting for a Democrat. “That’s what he said,” she told POLITICO.”

Not sure how much help it will be, since many see the Bush dynasty as precisely the ‘old establishment’ they wish to get rid of, but it may help sway some who are as yet undecided. Fingers crossed.

Dear Jill, What this does is give cover to other reasonable republicans to cross the line. Now HRC needs to focus on Millennials without any pandering which they hate. Thanks for stopping by and for your comments. Fingers are definitely crossed, Gronda

HRC has been running an effective commercial with about eight Republicans saying they cannot support DT. I thinks GHWB’s endorsement makes all five living presidents supporting her. I hope she runs the commercial where several senators and congressional reps speak of the great job she did as Secretary of State. I have seen this by link, but have not seen this in a commercial.
I was speaking with a Bernie fan today about this voter’s disdain for DT, but not strident support for HRC. I mentioned the key is climate change. HRC will do something aggressive about it and DT will tear up the Paris accord and Climate Plan of Obama’s. We cannot back track on climate change and DT’s tax plan will increase the debt in a huge way. These two are issues of huge import to millennials.

Dear Keith, I am in total agreement. The reality of climate change cuts across party lines and the different generations. She should push this issue while avoiding any pandering to Millennials which they hate. I wouldn’t push DTs negatives because young folks see through him.
This was reported in yesterday’s Vanity Fair: “Polls show how young Gary Johnson and Jill Stein supporters could hand Donald Trump the White House. About two-thirds of young voters say DT is unqualified to be president, racist, and biased against women. But instead of voting for the one candidate who can beat him, large numbers of millennials are planning to vote for third-party candidates who have no chance of accomplishing anything.”

Gronda, that scares me as well. DT was at High Point University yesterday and it pained me to see young students with Trump shirts at the rally. This university President has invited a parade of Conservative speakers over the years, so it was not a surprise to see him there. The climate change must be hammered home and can be done without pandering to an audience. Just ask them to compare stances.
I mentioned to Jill in a comment that The Guardian has two excellent pieces on climate change today. Keith
