aside Donald Trump Is Bringing the Campaign’s Trumplandia to the White House

Trumplandia

Those in the world of Trumplandia, both before and post the 2016 presidential election, have certain traits in common:

1.) They are the pied pipers of the Alt-right and White Supremacists’ groups like the KKK. (Donald Trump has been defending Steve Bannon vociferously from this criticism, but Mr. Bannon cannot have served as chairman for years of the self-proclaimed Alt-Right media outlet, Breitbart while still denying his Alt-right credentials.)Related image

2.) They are hardline anti- Clinton believers by which the democratic presidential nominee is considered to be a congenital liar, and a criminal who should be locked up in jail. (Today, 11/22/16, there has been reporting that under a President Trump’s administration, no further criminal investigations will go forward against Hillary Clinton. This was never within his purview to do. If he had gone forward with this promise, he would have been subject to impeachment for abuse of power. Some legal expert finally figured out how to make Donald Trump accept this reality based on a set of facts.)

3.) They are convinced that immigration needs to be limited and that the Religion of Islam is a threat to the U.S. national security interests.

4.) Despite all the evidence to the contrary, by several U.S intelligence agencies, those living in Trumplandia keep stating with a straight face, that Russia had nothing to do with hacking the DNC, the websites of Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta, and the U.S state department on multiple occasions.

5.) As of 11/22/16, the President-elect Trump has been stating for the record that the subject of climate changes is a hoax invented by the Chinese. This thinking has been reinforced by the possible appointment of staunch climate change deniers, Myron Ebell or Scott Pruitt, as head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).Here’s the quick skinny on Myron Ebell as champion of “climate change” deniers who has been designated to head the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), as per Wikipedia:Image result for photo of scott pruitt

“After this meeting, (4/3/1998) gathering of climate change deniers created “Global Client Science Communications” plan designed to convince the public that climate change was a hoax.) ExxonMobil, even though aware as early as 1981 that fossil fuels affected climate change, began funding Frontiers of Science, where Ebell was a staff member. In 1999 Ebell transferred to the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), and from 1998 to 2005 ExxonMobil provided CEI with over $2 million of funding.

As per Wikipedia, “On December 7, 2016, President-elect Donald Trump announced his intention to nominate Pruitt as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.  Pruitt calls himself “a leading advocate against the EPA’s activist agenda. He said of global warming that “that debate is far from settled.” With other state attorneys general, he has sued to fight the EPA’s Clean Power Plan and regulations on methane emissions, Gene Karpinski, the president of the League of Conservation Voters, described the nomination as being “like the fox guarding the henhouse.”

Another ideologue who had not been part of the Trumplandia campaign is Betsey DeVos, but her brother, Ed Prince who is the  founder of the government services and security company Blackwater USA has donated significant monies to Donald Trump’s campaign.  She, as a  prominent advocate for school choice and charter schools has been chosen to be the next secretary of the Department of Education.

BANNON-SESSIONS-FLYNN

Charles Blow in his 11/21/16 NY Times Op-Ed piece,”Trump: Making America White Again, tackles the possible effects of the other three appointees who were loyal surrogates during the campaign months: (Steve Bannon, Senator Jeff Sessions, and Ret. Lt. General Mike Flynn)

Excerpts:

“So many of President-elect Donald Trump’s decisions herald a tomorrow that is bleak for anyone who held hope that he could be a different, better man than the one who campaigned (I was not among that cohort), or those who simply assumed that the gravity of the office he is to assume would ground him.”

“Hard-line Trumpism isn’t softening; it’s being cemented.”Image result for photo of sessions flynn bannon

“Increasingly, as he picks his cabinet from among his fawning loyalists, it is becoming clear that by “Make America Great Again,” he actually meant some version of “Make America a White, Racist, Misogynistic Patriarchy Again.” It would be hard to send a clearer message to women and minorities that this administration will be hostile to their interests than the cabinet he is assembling.”

“He has promoted Stephen Bannon, an alt-right, white nationalist cheerleader and sympathizer, to chief White House strategist.”

“Senator Bernie Sanders responded to the Bannon announcement with a blistering statement.”

“The appointment by President-elect Trump of a racist individual like Mr. Bannon to a position of authority is totally unacceptable. In a democratic society we can disagree all we want over issues, but racism and bigotry cannot be part of any public policy. The appointment of Mr. Bannon by Mr. Trump must be rescinded.”Image result for photo of sessions flynn bannon

“But of course, Trump had no intention of rescinding the appointment. Indeed, he had more controversial appointments to come.He has chosen the extreme anti-Islam hyperbolist Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn — who also happens to be a stop-and-frisk apologist and has tweeted  that “fear of Muslims is RATIONAL” — as his national security adviser.”

As the New York Times reported Thursday:“General Flynn, for instance, has said that Shariah, or Islamic law, is spreading in the United States. (It is not.)

“His dubious assertions are so common that when he ran the Defense Intelligence Agency, subordinates came up with a name for the phenomenon: They called them ‘Flynn facts.’”Related image

Flynn tweeted:

“Follow Mike @Cernovich He has a terrific book, Gorilla Mindset. Well worth the read. @realDonaldTrump will win on 8 NOV!!!”

“The New Yorker dubbed Mike Cernovich “the meme mastermind of the alt-right” in a lengthy profile.”

“The magazine pointed out: “On his blog, Cernovich developed a theory of white-male identity politics: men were oppressed by feminism, and political correctness prevented the discussion of obvious truths, such as the criminal proclivities of certain ethnic groups.”Image result for photo of sessions flynn bannon

“Then there was the choice of Senator Jeff Sessions for attorney general. In 1986 Sessions famously became only the second nominee in 48 years to be rejected by the Senate Judiciary Committee, due to racist comments and behavior.”

“When confronted by the committee about remarks he was accused of making about the N.A.A.C.P. and the A.C.L.U., Sessions responded: “I’m often loose with my tongue. I may have said something about the N.A.A.C.P. being un-American or Communist, but I meant no harm by it.”

“In response to the attorney general announcement, the Southern Poverty Law Center issued a statement that read in part:”

“But we cannot support his nomination to be the country’s next attorney general. Senator Sessions not only has been a leading opponent of sensible, comprehensive immigration reform, he has associated with anti-immigrant groups we consider to be deeply racist, including the Federation for American Immigration Reform and theCenter for Security Policy. ”Indeed, FAIR was quick to congratulate Sessions on his nomination Friday, saying in a statement: “It’s hard to imagine a better pick for the attorney general position than Senator Jeff Sessions”; the group called on Sessions to rid the country of sanctuary cities.”

“The S.P.L.C. has written about FAIR, saying:”

“FAIR leaders have ties to white supremacist groups and eugenicists and have made many racist statements. Its advertisements have been rejected because of racist content. FAIR’s founder, John Tanton, has expressed his wish that America remain a majority-white population: a goal to be achieved, presumably, by limiting the number of nonwhites who enter the country.”Image result for photo of sessions flynn bannon

“Trump is making a statement that it would behoove America to heed: The America he envisions, and is now actively constructing from his perch of power, is not an inclusive America. It is a society driven by a racial Owellianism that seeks to defend, elevate and enshrine the primacy of white men and is hostile to all “others.”

“That orange glow emanating from the man is the sun setting on America’s progress, however slow and halting, on race and gender inclusion and equity.”

  1. Gronda, this is well done, and scary. I cannot fault your observations. We must be diligent and relentless in our advocacy of issues. To pick two – climate change and civil rights. Those must be issues that we cannot deviate from.

ExxonMobil is being investigated for alleged misrepresentation to its shareholders of the impact of climate change on its business. The smoking guns of their guilt resides in their own research, intermal memos and speeches. If guilty, this is securities fraud, which is a criminal act, even if they did not do so with intent.

Jeff Sessions, Steve Bannon, Myron Ebell, and General Flynn are four of the worst possible choices Trump could have made. These should concern us all, as rather than surrounding himself with well-rounded, knowledgeable people, he has selected four strident people.

Keep on doing what you are doing. Keith

      • Gronda, they always have, it just did not seem to matter when we were unaware of the environmental consequences. There is a great story on how the oil, auto and tire industries were found guilty of collusion to get rid of all the electric street car systems in America, a verdict that was many years after the ugly deeds were done. Now, cities are investing in light rail coming full circle. Keith
