Image result for photos of Pyotr Levashov,Another Russian who is suspected of hacking U.S. election data systems has been arrested by U.S. law enforcement on 4/7/17 while he was traveling in Barcelona, Spain.

As we all have been informed, the U.S. government has formally accused Russia of hacking Democratic Party and other related emails to help the campaign of the U.S. republican President Donald Trump. The U.S. Congress is also investigating links between Russia and Trump during the election campaign.

On 4/9/17, Angus Berwick of Reuters penned the following report, “Russian computer programmer arrested in Spain: embassy.”

“A Russian computer programmer, Pyotr Levashov, has been arrested in the Spanish city of Barcelona, a spokesman for the Russian embassy in Madrid said on Sunday.”

“It was unclear why Levashov was arrested. The embassy spokesman declined to give details for his arrest, and Spanish police and the interior ministry were not available for comment on Sunday (4/9/17).”

“Peter Carr, a spokesman for the U.S. Justice Department’s criminal division, said: “The U.S. case remains under seal, so we have no information to provide at this time.”

“The criminal division is separate from the national security division, which is responsible for investigating state-sponsored cyber crimes.”

“A U.S. Department of Justice official said it was a criminal matter without an apparent national security connection.”

  1. Excellent job of data sharing! While I am still aghast at the reporting by other sources about the sudden but not unexpected military action taken by King tRump that was IMO designed to boost his rating and stroke his ego, it seems to have worked better than I expected. The tRump fanz are boasting that this raid (even if it was not effective) will cause the terrorists not to be brave enough to attack our nation, I suggest that they are foolish to even think that for a NY minute.

      As the data shows, the IC Intelligence Community continues to make strides in its investigation of the Trump/ Russia saga. And of course, no terrorist will be deterred by the minimal recent US military action against Syria.Who knows where the DDT followers are acquiring this tidbit?
