Here the highly regarded National Security Adviser General H.R. McMaster stepped out and put at risk his own credibility by attempting to prop up his boss over the evolving scandal where the president shared sensitive classified data with his recent Russian guests at the White House, only to be undercut by this same republican President Donald Trump. The president has been telling all in his tweets. Still, the silence from the US republican legislators is deafening. And the American taxpayers watch in shock as the president’s spiraling roller coaster ride continues.
Here is the rest of the story…
On 5/16/17, Ashley Parker of the Washington Post penned the following report, “Trump acknowledges ‘facts’ shared with Russian envoys during White House meeting.”
Excerpts:
“President Trump appeared to acknowledge Tuesday that he revealed highly classified information to Russia — a stunning confirmation of a Washington Post story and a move that contradicted his own White House team after it scrambled to deny the report.”
“Trump’s tweets tried to explain away the news, which emerged late Monday, (5/15/17) that he had shared sensitive, “code-word” information with the Russian foreign minister and ambassador during a White House meeting last week, a disclosure that intelligence officials warned could jeopardize a crucial intelligence source on the Islamic State.”
“As President I wanted to share with Russia (at an openly scheduled W.H. meeting) which I have the absolute right to do, facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety,” Trump wrote Tuesday morning. “Humanitarian reasons, plus I want Russia to greatly step up their fight against ISIS & terrorism.”
“
The president’s admission also follows a familiar pattern. Last week, after unexpectedly firing FBI director James B. Comey, the White House originally claimed that the president was acting in response to a memo provided by Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein.”
“But in an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt, Trump later admitted that he had made the decision to fire Comey well before Rosenstein’s memo, in part because he was frustrated by the director’s investigation into possible collusion between his presidential campaign and the Russian government.”
“But his decision Tuesday (5/16/17) to undermine his own West Wing staff in a series of tweets is unlikely to help him bring stability to his chaotic administration, just days before he departs on a 10-day trip abroad.”
“Because the president has broad authority to declassify information, it is unlikely his disclosures to the Russians were illegal — as they would have been had just about anyone else in government shared the same secrets. But the classified information he shared with a geopolitical foe was nonetheless explosive, having been provided by a critical U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so delicate that some details were withheld even from top allies and other government officials.”

bragging, showing off, taking his “leader of the free world” seriously…… nefarious motives, dupe of really scary guys like Flynn and Bannon…. all these attributes we might understand, but when it comes to Trump the excuse is STUPIDITY. They need to impeach this fool now…but Congress is busy trying to make sure they cover their own asses before they worry about saving the country. Bah humbug!

Dear Gradmama2011,
Bah Humbug is right. This roller coaster ride is getting old and “we the people” want to get off. You’re right. He is just not cut out to be president. His learning curve is non existent.
The Russians are not friends of USA and do not want to be. DDT is going to have to face this reality soon.

it has really damaged our bully-of-the-world image, making us a laughing-stock while threatening our democracy.

Given his runny mouth syndrome, I have grave concerns about allowing him to travel out of the country and meet with other world leaders. He has already caused damage, the full extent of which is yet to be known … imagine what he can do left unattended overseas. In just under four months, this man has endangered our world in a way that no other president before him has done.
Hugs, my friend!

Dear Jill,
I would not leave him unattended for one second. Those who are attending meetings are already planning to keep interactions in a shorter time frame, etc. It is like everyone is preparing to deal with a powerful grandpa who is going senile.

I’m thinking perhaps they should have a mechanical failure with Air Force One … and Two, such that the trip would have to be postponed … indefinitely … while they order parts that have to be made specially.
Or perhaps they could inject him with a drug that would render him speechless so that he would just sit in meetings smiling and nodding.
Hugs!!!

Dear Jill,
He needs some of those smart pills that you wrote about sometime this past month.
You know, he is older. And I do worry about his health. Oops, we are about the same age. But he does need some medication to calm him down, otherwise his blood pressure is going to be off the charts.

So #McMaster wrote Dereliction of Duty? How ironic. Why doesn’t he come clean on Trump?

Dear CarolMaeWY,
Yes, he wrote this book which is the go to book for those studying the Viet Nam War.
Right now, it is his job to mitigate the damage done by DDT. Frankly, it was Gen. McMaster job to have kept the president from being in this position. And he admitted that he was present with the president the entire time.
Ciao, Gronda
