aside Dear Republicans, Here’s A Clue, It Is Not About Collusion Between Mr. Trump And Russia

The republican President Donald Trump has been reiterating. the phrase over and over again, I did not, I never did, I never would collude with Russians to win the electoral college vote to become the president.

TRUMP/ MUELLER

Dear Republicans: Guess what? The FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Trump-Russian probe has not been focusing all of their talents to prove coordination between the president, his campaign team and Russian operatives. The focus will eventually be towards discovering if Russia’s entanglements in the president’s financial dealings going back decades, could be having an undue influence on the president’s pro-Russian attitude and the creation of governmental policies favoring Russian interests, to the point where our national security interests end up being compromised.

But, then there are also, of course, possible “obstruction of justice” charges.

Yes, policy is being influenced by the president’s obvious bias in favor of Russia as demonstrated whenever President Trump continues to deny that Russia did in fact, meddle with the 2016 US presidential elections as late as December 2017. It is this mindset that is impeding a real plan from being implemented to prevent a repeat of what Russia did in 2016 to mess with our elections, in Novembers 2018 and 2020.

Most political observers have figured out by now that President Donald Trump and his republican cronies operating in the White House and the US Congress, have been made privy to inside credible research that is devastating news. Republicans have been forced to finally face the reality as to how unpopular they’ve become. They’ve been duly warned that they will be confronted with a tsunami blue wave of Democrats taking over the majority of seats in the US Congress because of the November 2018 mid-term elections.

Because of the negative news recently reviewed by republicans about the high probability that their numbers in the US Congress will suffer a loss as a result of the November 2018 elections, they have concluded that the FBI’s Trump/ Russian probe led by the highly reputed Special Counsel Robert Mueller III needs to be shut down or somehow be rendered impotent. They have figured out that they cannot withstand the negative data that is bound to be forthcoming from the FBI’s search for the truth regarding its Trump-Russian Inquiry being made public in 2018-2019.  To make matters worse for republicans, when the Democrats become the majority party in US House of Representatives, they will be in a position to subpoena the president’s IRS tax records, order an independent commission to investigate the Trump-Russia saga. Republicans will no longer be in a position to contain any data that paints their party in an unflattering light. Democrats can then begin impeachment proceedings based on the FBI’ findings. What wouldn’t republicans do to prevent this nightmare scenario?

No matter how the republicans run from the truth, here it is. During the course of the 2016 campaign, there was, in fact, a multifaceted Kremlin-directed influence campaign aimed at boosting Trump’s electoral fortunes.

The republicans would like to downplay this truth to make it of, no consequence, but the vast majority of Americans are NOT buying. We know that Russians meddled in our politics big-time in 2016 and beyond, and that the president with his favorable feelings towards Russia may have opened the door a little wider to allow for this attack to proceed at full speed.

By republicans continuing to enable a president who looks, acts, speaks like a Russian asset, they are failing in their duty to protect US national security interests and its peoples from being attacked again by Russia, and/ or by another foreign entity in future elections.

Republicans’ evolving self justification talking points for ending the FBI Investigation regarding Russia’s role in US politics:

1.) Republicans will use the talking point that Russia’s meddling in US politics is not new.

The US senators were informed around December 2016 by the CIA that what Hillary Clinton’s democratic campaign and her allies have long maintained — that emails stolen from her campaign chair John Podesta and provided to WikiLeaks were hacked in order to help make Donald Trump president of the United States. This was reported in real time by the Washington Post and the New York Times.

It has also been reported that Russia attempted to hack voter registration lists and voting machines in 21 US states. while running a social media shell game with an explosion of “fake news” posts and bots, mostly anti-Clinton in nature, of which, many were delivered en masse, targeting certain markets in various states.

NO, THIS CANNOT BE DESCRIBED AS TYPICAL RUSSIAN MEDDLING.

COMEY/ MUELLER

2.) At the start, many in Congress viewed the president with some skepticism, based on his frequent very positive rhetoric towards Russia. They worried that he might abandon the GOP’s traditionally hawkish posture toward Russia.

But after a year in office, republicans are convinced that whatever did or didn’t happen over the course of the campaign, President Trump is not, in fact, going to implement the kind of pro-Russian foreign policy he campaigned on, especially with the US Congress lawmakers  having passed legislation barring the president from lifting US sanctions against Russia without Congressional prior approval in 2017.

3.) Consequently, congressional Republicans who once supported the idea of investigating the Trump-Russia nexus have basically changed their minds and are now primarily investigating the investigators, while settling old political scores by using what was once a non- partisan judicial system to get even.

DEAR REPUBLICANS, IF YOU SHUT DOWN THE FBI’S INVESTIGATION INTO THE TRUMP-RUSSIA SAGA, WE WILL NOT FORGET. YOU ARE GAMBLING ON THE SHORT TERM MEMORIES AND THE FORGIVING NATURE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLES. THIS TIME YOU ARE FOOLING YOURSELVES BECAUSE THE AMERICAN PEOPLES DO NOT TAKE KINDLY TO A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT, IN PARTICULAR, AN ADVERSARY, THINKING THAT THEIR OFFICIALS CAN ATTACK OUR US NATIONAL SECURITY INTERESTS WITH IMPUNITY. NO, WE ARE NOT IN A FORGIVING MOOD AND WE WILL NOT FORGET BY NOVEMBER 2018.

BY THE WAY, WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT HAS BEEN DONE OR IS BEING DONE BY THE US CONGRESS TO PREVENT FUTURE SIMILAR ATTACKS ON OUR DEMOCRACY, AS RUSSIA HAD SUCCEEDED IN DOING IN 2016.

  1. Gronda, this ugly tribalism going on is traitorous in its own way, when you think about it. The sad truth is too many current and former GOP leaders are compromised in supporting the President. And, yes he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and his followers won’t care. They did not care about him grabbing the private parts of women in public or walking in unclad teen girls. If President Beavis could do that and get elected, what’s lying, bullying and obstructing going to do?

    • Dear Keith,

It is a sad state of affairs when we have to watch US republican senators abetting a Russian asset, philanderer, a chronic liar, overly impulsive man-child just so they can use him as a Trojan Horse.

All they have to do is flatter him and stroke his ego to where they can convince him to sign off on anything that they want on their wish list.

What’s worse is that they think that the American peoples can’t see what they are doing.

  2. What I feel here is that the actions of Trump, his cabinet and the members of Congress that are supporting him are subtly destabilizing the country, causing infighting and alienating our allies. This is the kind of action that if it continues unchecked sets a country up for a hostile foreign power take over almost without a fight. It would be a shame if we are looking in the wrong direction with a Russian asset as President.

    • Dear Ravenhawks,

I have become convinced that these republicans are operating in a bubble to where they are clueless about how negatively they are being assessed by the vast majority of Americans.

They cannot face the reality that the American peoples have figured out that they have been abetting a Russian asset without giving a second thought to the oath that they swore when they started out as freshmen.

They are in denial about how badly the Americans want them booted out of office because of what they are doing. They are not protecting US national security interests, its peoples, and all of us from future repeat attacks on our democracy from Russia or from other foreign non-friendly governments.

      Hugs, Gronda
