aside Showdown At The US Senate Corral Over Candidate Roy Moore /5th Accuser Comes Forward

NOTE: As of November 14, 2017, the RNC (Republican National Committee) has 11 operatives still working in Alabama to help Judge Roy Moore win the December 12, 2017 election to become a US senator. The republican leadership in the US Congress have been acting as if they have washed their hands of him.

It is showdown time. The republican US Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell has publicly announced for the record that he believes the women who have come forward to recount how Judge Roy Moore behaved inappropriately in intimate ways while dating them when they were teenagers and he was around 32 years old. He is asking the republican candidate for the US Senate from Alabama to step down.

As per the 11/13/17 Denver Post edition, U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) who is the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, on Monday (11/13/17) ratcheted up his position on Roy Moore, saying the Alabama Republican facing multiple accusations of sexual misconduct with minors should end his U.S. Senate candidacy and that the chamber should kick him out if he stays in and wins.”

“I believe the individuals speaking out against Roy Moore spoke with courage and truth, proving he is unfit to serve in the United States Senate and he should not run for office,” Gardner said in a statement. “If he refuses to withdraw and wins, the Senate should vote to expel him, because he does not meet the ethical and moral requirements of the United States Senate.”

But there has been reporting that the Republican National Committee (RNC) still has 11 operatives as of 11/14/17, on the ground that are hard at work to help Roy Moore become the next US Senator from Alabama. This belies the US Congress republicans’ protestations against Judge Moore.

Judge Roy Moore has demonstrated no intention of honoring any requests to exit the race. He has been threatening to sue the Washington Post for reporting the women’s claims. The Post would welcome this action as it would allow for the discovery process. So, frankly this is a bluff to buy time. He has committed to provide proof in a few days to dispute the women’s allegations. Don’t hold your breaths!

Steve Bannon, the republican President Donald J. Trump’s former chief strategist and the chairman of the conservative, White supremacists’ website, Breitbart News has divulged that he has sent reporters to Alabama to uncover the truth about these women’s assertions.

Here is the rest of the story…

On November 13, 2017, the Washington Post’s staff penned the following report, “Senate majority leader calls on Roy Moore to end Senate campaign after claims of sexual misconduct with 14-year-old girl.”

“I think he should step aside,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told a Kentucky audience. McConnell also said he believes the woman — who was 14 at the time, and Moore was 32 — as well as others who made claims against Moore, who is the GOP nominee in Alabama.”

During the last week of November 6, 2017, the Washington Post broke the news that 4 women had implicated Judge Moore of acting sexually inappropriately with them when they were teenagers and he was in his early 30s.

A coworker, deputy district attorney, Teresa Jones has tweeted  on 11/10/17, that it was well known in the Gadsden courthouse grapevine, that about 37+ years ago, Judge Moore had a penchant for dating very young ladies. He liked to hang out at the malls and local football games.

In the afternoon of Monday (11/13/17), Gloria Allred, a New York lawyer who has championed victims of sexual harassment, publicly introduced the 5th  woman to accuse Judge Roy Moore of sexual impropriety.

The new accuser alleges on TV, while she was in High School and working at a nearby restaurant, that Roy Moore did accost her for sexual favors without her consent. While the car doors were locked and in a secluded area, he grabbed her neck and forced her head towards his crotch. As she started crying, he gave up.  The next day, her neck was black, blue and purple. Later that same week, she quit her job. Eventually, and years ago, she told others like her sister, her Mom and her Husband.

Her name is Beverly Young Nelson. She was told that he was the local district attorney and if she ever said anything, no one would ever believer her.

As per 11/13/17 CBS News report, “Accuser details encounters with Moore”

“Nelson describes her first encounter when she was 15-years-old working as a waitress at a local restaurant after school.”

“She said Moore, DA of Etowah County, was a regular customer where he would often pull the ends of her hair as she passed by and complimented the young girl’s looks.”

“I did nothing to encourage this behavior,” said Nelson, adding “I did not respond to any of Mr. Moore’s flirtatious behavior.”

“She said that at the time of the encounters she had a boyfriend and was “not interested in having a dating or sexual relationship with a man twice my age.”

“Nelson went on, describing another incident in which Moore signed a school yearbook of hers when she was 16.”

“He wrote in my yearbook as follows: ‘To a sweeter more beautiful girl, I could not say Merry Christmas, Christmas, 1977, Love, Roy Moore, Old Hickory House. Roy Moore, DA.'”

“She said after the incident, Moore had offered to drive Nelson home after work, during which she alleges he forced himself on Nelson and groped her in a locked car.”

“I trusted Mr. Moore because he was district attorney, I thought he was doing something nice to offer to drive me home,” said Nelson.”

“She detailed her fighting off Moore in the car as he squeezed her neck, forcing her head onto his crotch.”

“She said that Moore eventually gave up, and told her, “You’re just a child, I’m the district attorney if you tell anyone about this no one will ever believe you.”

As per a 11/13/ 17 Daily Beast report, “Roy Moore, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Alabama, was banned from a mall in the early 1980s after he repeatedly attempted to pick up teenage girls, former mall employees and local police told The New Yorker. Other locals also told AL.com that Moore was known for prowling the mall. Moore, whom five women have accused of making advances on them or molesting them when they were teenagers, allegedly had a reputation for hanging around the Gadsden Mall, in Gadsden, Alabama, in pursuit of high school-age girls. One former mall employee told The New Yorker that a security guard asked mall employees to be on the lookout for Moore, who was “banned from the mall.” Blake Usry, who was a teenager in town at the time, told AL.com Moore was known to “flirt with all the young girls,” and would hang out at the mall on weekends “like the kids did.” Other locals told AL.com that Moore’s penchant for flirting with teens was common knowledge in town. One former waitress told AL.com that Moore made young waitresses uncomfortable by staring at them, then becoming rude if they did not “give him an opening.” A police officer, one of two who spoke with The New Yorker, said that “general knowledge at the time when I moved here was that this guy is a lawyer cruising the mall for high-school dates” and that Moore may not have received an official ban but was a persona non grata at the mall and had been “run off” from “a number of stores.”

  1. I would think that Ms Nelson coming forward should be the final nail in his coffin, but then I never expected some of the comments coming out of politicians mouths defending him. I meant, I fully expected his supporters to deny what he did, but for them to say that even if he had sexual contact with minors, there’s nothing wrong with that?🤢

    • Dear Kim,

I am hoping that Mrs. Nelson is the last straw. She admitted to being a republican who had voted for Donald Trump. She had Judge Moore’s note in her yearbook proving that he knew her.She had nothing to gain by coming forward.

The chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Sen Cory Gardner (R-CO) HAS STATED THAT IF HE SHOWS UP AT THE US SENATE, HE WILL BE EXPELLED.

There comes a point where republicans in Alabama have to move into the current century instead of pretending it is 1960.

He didn’t get married until 1985. He has 4 children with one who is an adult young lady.

      Hugs, Gronda

  2. Gronda, Moore and his supporters are saying this is all politically motivated and why did they wait forty years? The answer to the last point is above – he was the DA, so who would believe her?

As for the political motivation, he is about to become one of the 100 leaders in our Senate. Information like this is essential. Also, assaulted women age feeling more empowered with the Weinstein et al tipping point occurring.

Our fellow Amercans in Alabama need to consider the veracity of these women and their stories. As we noted last week, there will be more. Keith

    • Dear Keith,

Some of Judge Moore’s buddies have said that even if all the women’s accusations are true, they would still vote for Judge Moore before they would ever vote for a Democrat.

These men are definitely not men of honor and decency. They are living back somewhere in the 1960’s.

There is enough information out there like the 4 women that interviewed with the Washington Post; Teresa Jones who tweeted that years ago she was his coworker as a deputy attorney and his penchant for young girls was an open secret; another very credible woman came forward today; and then Mr. Moore inadvertently admitted to dating very young ladies in his interview with Hannnity.

So, these men have to know they are backing a child molester. At that point, they are as sick as he is.

      Hugs, Gronda

      • Gronda, I saw those same inane comments. So, these folks would rather vote for a man who likes to fondle our teen daughters versus the son of a steelworker who is a highly credible district attorney. I would hope when one of these people say that at a cocktail party, someone who has daughters can tell him what he or she thinks of his opinion. Keith

  3. Sexual assault never leaves one un-scarred. You remember the details as if they happened only moments ago. The fear remains no matter how much counseling one receives. Back in the late 60’s through the mid-80’s, women who reported were vilified, their names posted in local newpapers as the victims, they were asked what were they wearing, how were they walking, how did they LOOK at their assaulter as if it were entirely their faults. That pain was reinforced with the way police, attorneys and even doctors treated them. How could they report? I believe every single one of those women. I lived through it. I know. I didn’t report either until 20 some years later, and then it was to counselors and loved ones that I opened up. I hope this ends that horrid man’s career, but highly doubt it will. After all, a president got elected after BRAGGING about assaulting women. it’s “just locker room talk” ya know.

  4. Dear Suze,

We women all know that no women in her right mind comes forward unless she feels she has to report because the process of reporting is traumatic. The crime of sexual assault is so under-reported.

Yes, I believe all these women. Mrs. Beverly Young Nelson came forward with nothing to gain except grief. The others were sought out by reporters because of a lead. They did not know each other.

I hope these republican men don’t have teenage daughters. How do they explain their backing of Judge Moore to them?

What happened to you is a horror and I am sorry to learn of your nightmare? These men do not understand the harm that is done by these monster men. Times are improving but not by much. These men are representative of misogyny at its worst. .

The republicans can no longer claim the mantle of morality. They lost that talking point when they helped Donald Trump to become our president.

    Enough is enough.

    Hugs, Gronda

  5. It’s difficult to know who is worse a despicable child molester or a media junkie huckster like Bannon for supporting him.
These at the sorts are so bad they make a credible case for an authoritarian regime which would lock them up never to be seen again (although I suspect Bannon would try and weasel his way into its propaganda machinery)
