Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) has turned up the heat temperature for her republican colleagues in the US Congress and the White House with her leading the charge for -0- tolerance for the republicans choosing to condone candidates with a history of sexual impropriety towards women as in the cases of the republicans Judge Roy Moore, an alleged pedophile running to fill the US Senate seat for Alabama on 12/12/17, and the of course, President Donald J. Trump whose own words on tape condemn him.

Of course, President Trump had to go on the attack to diminish the reputation of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) for her bold stance.

We the people who are part of the resistance have quit begging the question, how low can the republicans in the White House and the US Congress go?

It is important to keep reminding ourselves of “the Resistance” that the republican President Donald  J. Trump is rated as the most unpopular president in our life times by the  vast majority of Americans. It is a minority of folks who are hard core supporters of President Trump but these voters are a significant part of the republican party to where republican leaders are fearful of angering them. So, despite their numbers, their power within the republican party is immense.

Latest Poll Numbers

On December 7, 2017,  Sophie Tatum of CNN penned the following report, “Trump’s approval rating at 32%.”

  • Trump’s approval rating has been fairly stagnant since October
“President Donald  J. Trump’s approval rating sits at 32%, according to a new poll released by the Pew Research Center, matching the lowest level in any poll on his approval since he took office in January.”

“The poll also found that disapproval of the President’s job performance is at 63%, and just 14% of those who disapprove of his presidential performance say they can think of some-thing he’s done that they’ve been happy with.”
“However, 37% of those who approve of his job performance say they can think of something Trump has done that they’ve been disappointed with or unhappy with.”
  
Pew’s report on the poll noted that Trump’s approval rating has been fairly stagnant since October, when it was at 34%, but has decreased since February, when it was 39%.
Additionally, the poll found that the majority of Americans — 59% — think improper contact between senior Trump officials and Russia during the campaign “definitely or probably occurred.”

“Thirty percent said they believed “senior Trump officials definitely had improper contacts with Russia during the campaign,” while 30% also responded that they thought improper contact “definitely or probably did not happen.”
“Thoughts regarding Trump campaign officials having improper contact with Russia were split along party lines, with 82% of Democrats and those who lean Democratic saying they thought there were improper contacts, and “49% saying they definitely took place.”
However, only 26% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought such contacts probably or definitely had occurred.”

The poll was conducted between November 29 and December 4, and has  a margin of sampling error of 2.9 percentage points.

      I am biting my nails waiting for tonight’s election results in Alabama.

      President Trump is letting Sen. Gillibrand get under his skin because she resurrects the voices of all those women who have pointed an accusing finger at the president when he foolishly thought he had bypassed all of these women. He has a surprise coming. as there are a lot of nasty women coming after him.

          Tonight, one of the big winners is the “Me Too” movement which has prompted peoples to be more receptive believe the women’s voices who had pointed an accusing finger at Judge Roy Moore. Thanks for your courage in coming forward to help others by sharing your story.

      • Sad to repeat Gronda in view of the demands in political adroitness and behaviour of the holder of the office by any measurement the USA does not current have a president, only someone who happens, by a quirk of the voting system, to occupy the Whitehouse.

  5. Gronda, I have said several times before that Trump has gone a bridge too far. However, responding the way he did should have a large echo effect. Quite frankly, he has earned any backlash. It should be noted he is mad at Ambassador Nikki Haley saying the women should be heard, even when they accuse the President.

    The inference he made is huge. I shared with my wife that Trump’s ego is so large and like other important men, he probably thinks all women are hitting on him. So, that justifies to him doing whatever he wants “because they were asking for it.”

    Why his supporters do not see this man-child molester for what he is, is truly beyond me. When is daughter says their is a special place in hell for pedophiles, she was also talking about her father, who likes to walk in on naked teens, just because he sponsored the beauty pageant. His wife is focusing on preventing bullying, when she is married to one of the most powerful and prolific bullies on the planet. And, he decries fake news, when he is biggest purveyor of fake news in America.

    When I see the President of the US he makes me ill. This is what I see. He is among the worst of us. Keith

      The voters in Alabama have come through for all of us in the USA by electing the democrat Doug Jones to be their next US Senator.

      Miracles do happen. Now we need to hang around the republicans’ necks the mantle of all those women’s voices who have bravely come forward to share their stories about how President Trump was misbehaving with them and how the republican sycophants have continued to back him.

  6. Can you imagine President Obama ever having tweeted such horrible things about anybody, let alone a member of Congress? This man belongs working in a shipyard, not sitting in the Oval Office! Thanks for the info, Gronda. The FiveThirtyEight aggregate poll still has him at 37.5% … sigh. That is the problem with polls … so many variables. I like Pew’s results better! Hugs!

      By now you have learned that the democratic candidate Doug Jones has won the election to become the next US senator from Alabama. This means that resident Trump lost bigly. He can no longer call the shots as to who wins an election. His power and reach is being diminished, slowly but surely.
