aside Many More Americans Believe FBI Special Counsel Mueller Than President Trump

Despite the republican President Donald Trump and his sycophants in the White House, the US Congress and right wing media outlets having orchestrated and implemented full throttle attacks on the FBI, the US Department of Justice (DOJ), designed to discredit these institutions, they have not succeeded.  It turns out that the vast majority of Americans indicate that they believe the FBI’s Special Counsel Robert Mueller III over the US president when it comes to the FBI’s Trump-Russia probe.

Here is the rest of the story…

On February 26, 2018, Luis Sanchez of the Hill penned the following report,”Poll: Americans trust Mueller more than Trump on Russia”

“More Americans say they have trust in special counsel Robert Mueller than President Trump when it comes to the investigation into Russia election meddling, according to a survey released Monday (2/26/18).”

“The USA Today poll — which questioned 1,000 registered voters earlier this month after Mueller indicted 12 Russian nationals and three Russian groups over their alleged 2016 interference — found that 58 percent of voters have some or a lot of trust in Mueller’s investigation and 57 percent have little to no trust in Trump’s denials of Russian collusion.”

“However, neither Trump nor Mueller got high favorable ratings. Trump was at 34 percent favorable while Mueller got 37 percent.”

“Nearly 70 percent of those polled said they believe Moscow made serious effort to meddle in the 2016 elections but are fairly split on whether it had any effect on the outcome, with 44 percent saying it did not and 42 percent saying it did.”

“Three-fourths of respondents said the Kremlin will likely try to influence future American elections, and the same amount also said they take Mueller’s charges seriously. Only 20 percent said they do not view the charges as serious.”

“Some 60 percent said Trump is not doing enough to address the threat of future interference.”

“The survey aligns with one released earlier this month by Marist College, which found that, given a choice between the two, 55 percent of Americans would trust Mueller over Trump, compared to just 30 percent who said the opposite.”

“The threat to future elections has been considered credible enough that the State Department recently unveiled a $40 million initiative to combat state-sponsored disinformation targeting the U.S.”

“The USA Today poll was done by landline and cellphone from Tuesday to Thursday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.”

    • Dear John Fioravanti,

This good news was confirmed by a CNN poll as well. It’s important that Mr. Mueller’s reputation remains intact and that his work product is believed.

      Hugs, Gronda

  1. Gronda, the fact that a greater percentage do not favor Mueller’s efforts reveal how corrupt our former party has become. The GOP leaders have chosen to reinforce a man who is on record as lying 69% of the time which is consistent with his intruthful past as recorded by five biographers.

Mueller is a man of high integrity serving both Republican and Democrat Presidents. The man who is sowing doubt can make such a claim. I will be surprised if Trump is not found guilty of something. Keith

  2. Dear Keith,

I am just relieved to know that folks outside of the presidents base is NOT buying the GOP’s attempts to besmirch the reputation of our FBI and that the public gets the fact that Russia interfered in our elections.

In short, his propaganda is not snowing folks beyond his base.

I think that these are pretty good poll numbers, “58 percent of voters have some or a lot of trust in Mueller’s investigation and 57 percent have little to no trust in Trump’s denials of Russian collusion.”

    Hugs, Gronda
