What else is new! “We the people” know that the republican President Donald Trump and his republican cronies will stoop to just about any low brow action including resorting  to outright  fabrications to cover for the Trump team. Unfortunately, this includes setting up a 21 year competent, dedicated civil servant, the former FBI acting director, Andrew McCabe to be fired just hours before he was scheduled to retire with his pension benefits, intact.

Here is the rest of the story…

On March 30, 2018, Frank Vyant Walton of the DailyKos penned the following report, “Andrew McCabe has emails proving the Republicans have lied about him”

After Jeff Sessions decided to fire Andrew McCabe just hours before his scheduled retirement which denied him his full benefits package, Republican Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Mark Meadows (R-NC) claimed the FBI’s disciplinary office found that McCabe lied to then-Director James Comey about leaking information to the press which occurred last night on Laura Ingraham’s show.

Jordan claimed that the FBI’s disciplinary office found that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe lied to then-Director James Comey.

“It wasn’t once, it wasn’t twice, four time [McCabe] lied to the Wall Street Journal” said Jordan.

Yeah, but this:

But Michael Bromwich, McCabe’s attorney, told The Washington Post that claims of email evidence “clearly show that Mr. McCabe advised Director Comey that he was working with colleagues at the FBI to correct inaccuracies before the stories were published, and that they remained in contact through the weekend while the interactions with the reporter continued.”

Bromwich also slammed Republicans for “attempting to create a false narrative” about McCabe’s ouster.

“We deeply regret being compelled to respond to this selective leaking with any comment at all,” Bromwich added.

“Nevertheless, one thing is clear: Mr. McCabe never misled Director Comey. Director Comey’s memory of these interactions was equivocal and speculative, while Mr. McCabe’s recollection is clear, unequivocal and supported by documentary evidence,” Bromwich continued. “Director Comey has no specific recollection of what Mr. McCabe told him, while Mr. McCabe remembers the two discussed the article before and after its publication.”

The revelation sheds new light on a matter of keen interest to Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who is investigating how the bureau handled its probe into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state. The inquiry, once complete, is expected to determine that McCabe authorized the disclosure of sensitive information to reporter Devlin Barrett, then of the Wall Street Journal. Barrett now works for The Washington Post.

Also McCabe has now established a defense fund (which at this time has reached $507,000 of his goal of $250k), I suspect he may be joining Stormy Daniels and Summer Zervos in the parade of defamations suits lineup up back and forth across Washington.

And this is what Comey says about McCabe.

James Comey

Special Agent Andrew McCabe stood tall over the last 8 months, when small people were trying to tear down an institution we all depend on. He served with distinction for two decades. I wish Andy well. I also wish continued strength for the rest of the FBI. America needs you.

  1. Considering elected officials are supposed to serve with honesty and integrity I hope that this latest pair are made to resign after lying to the public and any other official found to have lied on purpose should follow them swiftly no matter how high up the chain it goes. How are you ever supposed to have faith in Government when you know they lie but you keep them in place.

    • Dear David Prosser,

I was just talking to my daughter about this. There is little that can be done to these elected officials except at the ballot box. They need to have their actions exposed and then they need to be voted out of office.

People like me (part of the resistance) take time to call, tweet, email these guys about this type of activity.

Their actions do lower their faith in government institutions.

      Hugs, Gronda

  2. Gronda, there are two truisms in today’s politics. If Donald Trump is talking or tweeting, the surest bet is the msn is lying. On the record measurement of a 69% mostly false or worse rate.

The other is if a Republican legislator of pundit is speaking on his behalf, odds are they are lying as well. When you cover for a liar, it is awful hard not to lie. Limbaugh lies 80% of the time as measured by Politifacts. Fox pundits anc experts – 60% of the time and Hannity is at 52%. In contrast, CNN pundits and experts have a 27% rate.

If I see Trump’s picture behind a newscaster or in my newsfeed, my reaction is what is the man lying about now? Keith

    • Dear Keith,

The spreading of fake news, misleading stories, lies, slander is at an all time high by the president, his cronies, and the right wing media. Gas lighting is in full operation on the American peoples. Something has to give.

      Hugs, Gronda

    • Dear Holly,

The concepts of integrity, decency, ethics have been thrown out the window by the current republican folks in the White House and the US Congress. What moral compass?

If someone is not on the Trump train, they’re dog meat, not worth a second thought.

      Hugs, Gronda

  3. This is infuriating, albeit not at all surprising. But the worst part of this is that in just 14 short months, our trust in our government has been completely and totally eroded … shattered. I literally trust not one soul in our federal government at this time. And trust, once broken, is a damn hard thing to repair. It may be decades before integrity returns to this nation. Hugs, my friend.

  4. Reblogged this on Filosofa's Word and commented:
If you had any doubt that our government has completely lost any and all integrity … you need to read Gronda’s post. We The People have been so duped that I almost hope for an invasion of Canadians to come take us over! Thanks Gronda!

  5. They tread dangerous ground. Even if 40% (say) of the people polled think Trump is doing a ‘good’ job and you leave out those who have no opinion that leaves a substantial proportion of the population who have no faith in the current government. Responsible leadership would worry about this.
