PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE

The royal wedding in the UK between the handsome Prince Harry and the beautiful Meghan Markle  which is set to occur in just about a couple of weeks will marked by the absence by a not so favorite uncle from across the pond, President Donald Trump. In order to be somewhat gracious in this snub Prince Harry was barred by the royals from inviting his friend, the former democratic President Barrack Obama and his family. Now many of who’s who in the British government will no longer have to fret over who did or didn’t receive an invite to the wedding of the decade.

While the Brits were determined to be bound by a suitable level of decorum, the republican Senator John McCain is refusing to abide by whatever “Miss Manners” might recommend. The maverick and beloved senator from Arizona has been largely absent from the US Congress because he has been undergoing medical protocols to treat his aggressive form of brain cancer. While he has been preparing for the inevitable end to his final battle with death, he has made it crystal clear to anyone close to him that the republican President Donald  J. Trump is not to be invited to his funeral. Both Presidents George W. Bush and Barrack Obama have been asked to deliver eulogies at his last celebration of a life well lived. He wants to be able to rest in peace.

But then there is the most recent SNL Saturday Night Live event where the actors playing the parts of President Trump with his surrounding cast with a cameo appearance by Stormy Daniels, which can be described as an event that was oblivious to any sensibilities. On May 6, 2018, David Itzkoff of the New York Times penned the following article, “Saturday Night Live: Storm Daniels Makes a Surprise Appearance”

Excerpts:

A murderer’s row of “Saturday Night Live” cast members and guest performers turned out for the show’s cold opening this weekend, playing President Trump and the many people in his orbit engulfed by the controversy surrounding a payment made to Stephanie Clifford, the pornographic film actress known as Stormy Daniels. The star-studded sketch ended with a surprise payoff of its own: an appearance by the real-life Clifford, who traded a few barbs with Alec Baldwin’s incarnation of Trump.

The episode (hosted by Donald Glover, who also served as musical guest under his stage name Childish Gambino) began with Ben Stiller, reprising his role as Michael D. Cohen, the personal lawyer to Trump, as he placed a pay phone call to the president. Baldwin received the call in the Oval Office.

Responding to Stiller’s concern that his explanation for the payment to Clifford keeps changing, Baldwin said it was time to call upon the services of Rudolph W. Giuliani (portrayed by the ever-versatile Kate McKinnon) because, he said, “He’s got the sharpest legal mind since ‘My Cousin Vinny.’”

But first, Stiller placed an accidental call to Dr. Harold N. Bornstein, Trump’s personal physician, as played by Martin Short. Short explained he had plenty of free time, saying, “I have zero commitments, personally or professionally. But if you ever want to do drugs, I can get you all the drugs.”

  1. Gronda, it speaks volumes that Fox folks have to resort to lies to defend a lying man. Do they not realize what they are masking? I was aware of McCain asking not to invite Trump, but did not know if the two former President doing eulogies. That also makes a statement.

By the way, Ben Stiller as Cohen is superb casting. Keith

    • Dear Keith,

There are even a couple of FOX News reporters calling the president out on his blatant lies. But overall, FOX TV can now be considered President Trump’s reality TV show.

Senator McCain is now being more open about his life. For example, it has been reported that he wished he hadn’t selected Sarah Palin to be his VP when he ran against Barrack Obama in 2008. He feels that this choice opened the door for a Mr. Trump becoming a US president. He had wanted Senator Lieberman to be his running mate.

Ben Stiller did an outstanding acting job as Michael Cohen.

      Hugs, Gronda

      • Gronda, we must keep chipping around the edge under the belief a few more folks will start paying attention. They need to ask why is McCain not inviting Trump and avoid going tribal and making an American hero an enemy. Keith

    • Dear 1EarthUnited,

Mr. Cohen’s troubles with the law go a lot deeper than how/ when Stormy Daniels was given her hush monies. He has been under surveillance for months. His offices were raided by FBI in a surprise raid. The warrant for this is not easy to obtain.

Mr. Cohen has a history of being involved in shady deals where others have faced the ire of the judicial system but Mr. Cohen never came close. He’s a snitch and with what the Feds have on him, he’ll be singing before long. Mr. Giuliani came on the scene a little too late to fix this.

      Thanks for the reference.

      Hugs, Gronda
